POSTED: 8:50 am MST March 18, 2005
UPDATED: 10:09 am MST March 18, 2005
ARVADA, Colo. -- Two men have been arrested, accused of setting fire to a cat and tossing it off the roof of Arvada West High School.
Police say 22-year-old Christopher Wilbur and 18-year-old Joshua Klohr set a gray cat on fire and then tossed it off the school roof Wednesday night. Officers spotted the two men on the roof of Arvada West High School just before 11 p.m.
By the time officers reached the cat, it was already dead, Arvada police spokeswoman Susan Medina said.
Police still don't know who owned the cat, described as a neutered, short-haired gray tabby with black stripes. The male cat was less than 3 years old.
Wilbur and Klohr have been released from jail pending the filing of formal charges. They face charges including arson and cruelty to an animal.
Anyone with information about the crime, or the cat's owner, is being asked to call Arvada police at (720) 898-6721.

If anyone knows who the judge is hearing this case I would like his name and address. These 2 need to be put in jail and or get manditory counseling. People who do these things are a danger to the community they live in.

And I would like the address, as well. I think a bunch of us should write to these people whenever we hear about something like this.

How about someone get the addresses of the two sick ****s?
We had a number of recent incidents like this in Australia, mainly Sydney. Some seemed to have been provoked by earlier ones and the attention the media gave the worthless scum.
One incident involved a kitten being set on fire (it eventually died while being cared for). The **** who did it got a 16 month jail sentence reduced to 100 hours community service (I hope not in a non-human animal shelter to learn to "appreciate" non-humans).

I agree with you 2 ladies completely. I sincerely hope these 2 individuals are sentenced, and that they are ready for the karmic backlash they have in store on down the road.
I'm so glad my cats are indoors.

This makes me sick. At least they don't live in Texas. If they did, and the cat was theirs, they would get off scott free.

not true catgirl67 since the incident with the dog who had his eye gouged out and set on fire...I can't remember the dogs name but laws were passed to toughen animal cruelty penalties in texas. there was also a case of a woman who abused her horses who got jail time 2-3 years I think? Sorry dind't get much sleep last night

Thank God! That is such a relief. I didn't get much sleep either, and when I heard the news this morning, I was sucking some strong coffee. Thanks for the good news. :)

What is good though is that with the arson charge added on, it becomes more serious with a much stiffer penalty. Sad but true!
