The only pet that I bathe regularly is my lab/newfoundland cross. He's about 100lbs. and tons of fur, too.
I'm looking for something that is all-natural, good for his coat, cruelty-free AND lasts a long time. The shampoo I currently am using is the 8in1 Perfect Coat for Black Coats and I can use half the bottle easily during one bath.
A couple of my cats don't mind being bathed and there is one that I have to bathe when his skin starts acting up.
Got any ideas?

we use this pet bar (http://www.splashbathandbody.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SHB&Product_Code=0703&Category_Code=) on our golden and i know they don't conduct animal testing, but i'm not sure if it contains animal ingredients. you could ask them (splashorders@yahoo.com). does such a great job that our groomer has ordered a bunch of them for his business. lasts forever, too. $6.95.

I really like Tropiclean Products. They're cruelty free too http://petsafe-warehouse.com/Pet_care_grooming/shampoo.htm They have large sized containers on this website for pretty cheap! ( I've never ordered through them though )

I'd just accept the fact that it takes half a bottle of anything to wash a newf.

  that cracked me up. It's so true, though. Pure bred Newf's are about 150lbs. My Bear is only 50lbs. lighter than that.
I'm just looking for alternatives to the small, expensive bottles I see at the two pet stores here.

I have a bunch of this bar shampoo that nobody is using. It have super dry, breakable hair and it was a bit too harsh for me. I think it is calle J.r. liggetts. It lasts for a long time.
I would be happy to send you a bar to try, if you want. Just PM me your addy. :) If you are worried about giving a stranger your address, I have VB references. :D

Oh, and I just realized how stupid I am! I didn't look at the right prices on the link I provided. Umm, it was just the pump that was 8.99  There's no way I'm spending $80 fro a 2.5 gallon bottle of dog shampoo. Please disregard my suggestion!
