They are now finding out that not only do antibiotics cause yeast infections, but they cause bacterial infections. In the process of killing off one bacteria, they cause overgrowth of another bacteria, just like they cause overgrowth of yeast.
This may well be the cause of persistent tonsil infections, as well as persistant sinus infections.
If you have a tonsil infection I would stop smoking this is likely to be more helpful than any antibiotic, and may even cause hypertrophied tonsils to return to normal size.
