Right now I have a canvas Arbonne bag but I'd like to find something a bit more tailored, unique, and eye catching. It needs to hold my laptop and be cruelty-free, of course. Help me shop!!

Okay, I'm in LOVE with this bag http://www.moonsus.com/collections/allure_hal004.cfm?CFID=5360065&CFTOKEN=61556710

or the backpack version....isn't it seksy!? :smitten: http://www.moonsus.com/collections/capriccio_hca002_1.cfm?CFID=5360065&CFTOKEN=61556710#

I can't figure out if it's leather trim or not.....they cost a small fortune, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Hey - those are cool!

Sal - The trim on the moonsus bag looks pretty real leather to me. Other than that - they look totally you. You should email them to find out for sure about the trim. I love that backpack style.

I have this backpack:

It's not fancy or stylish, but it gets the job done.

*sigh* The Moonsus bags do have leather trim. I'm not finding much of anything that's really eye catching yet.....keep the suggestions coming!

I sent this message to Moonsus:

Are any of your laptop bags made without leather? I do avoid leather
for ethical reasons. I'd be interested in a bag made with synthetic
alternatives.

Here is the pea-brained reply I got:

Thank you for your inquiry.
The main material constructed for Moonsus collection is Jacquard fabric, and only 5% portion of bag (on
the handles and bag trim) is made by grained leather.

Please feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

Well, you'd only be comprising your ethical beliefs by 5%. :p

We just got some really cute laptop briefcases at AlternativeOutfitters.com. They are really great and have lots of pockets.

Scroll down and see the Jazzd bags and the Koie bag too. All vegan. I would love to hear what you think!

i saw some cute all-nylon bags (http://www.target.com/gp/browse.html/602-4954034-5508642?page=1&index=tgt%2dmf%2dmv&field%2dbrowse=11046631&size=77&node=11046631&rank=%2bpmrank) at target of all places. probably not the best quality, but might work ok for a spell. i like this pink one (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_74/602-4954034-5508642?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0002XR9GS) and this polka-dotted one (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_73/602-4954034-5508642?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0002XR9I6) especially. at $24.99, can't go wrong!

*sigh*
I am having no luck finding a bag I like. I do like the Koie bag in black & white but I see it's only available in pink right now - plus I'm not so sure it's big enough.
I went to Target and those bags that wow i'm a dog posted are much too small. Big enough to hold my laptop and maybe one slim file folder - that's not going to be enough!

This is the one I recently bought. Sorry, I can't post the link, so you'll have to cut & paste.

zappos (dot) com/n/p?dp=4738384

I bought mine at Macy's (on sale for $50) and it was available in black, tan, cream or light green. It is made of PVC embossed with a croco print and the inside is all cotton. It holds my laptop and has three different slots for files varying from 2" deep to 4" deep. It also has an exterior pocket on the back and mini pockets of the interior to hold cellphone, sunglasses, etc.

I can take pictures of mine and email them to you if you want to see the bag's interior.

FWIW, it's made in China and it's by Liz Claiborne.

WOW! I love it! It doesn't look like it's padded for a laptop but I'm finding others at Zappos...I never thought to look there! Thanks sooooooooo much!
I'll post when I fiinally decide...

I love ebags ... too bad that one you like is so expensive! I just purchased this one ... http://www.ebags.com/ebags/pick_pink_17_horizontal_laptop_protector/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=58996 ... and it is supposed to come in today. My laptop is a widescreen, which makes it a little tougher to find bags that fit. If you find a bag that is large enough for your laptop, but is not specifically made for a laptop, you can always get a separate padded sleeve for the laptop itself, then put the sleeve in the other bag. Something to think about if you find what you like but it's not made for a laptop.
