Is there a certain age limit for gym memberships?

Most gyms generally have either an age restriction or require you to join and attend with a parent or legal guardian. You'll have to call your local gyms to find out. The YMCA may be another option

My gym only let you in the actual gym when you were 16 or they did hold special sessions for over 12s where they could use the running machines, exercise bikes etc with supervision from gym staff.. but under 16s you could use other facilities like the pool and tennis courts... which are great ways of exercising. But it does vary gym to gym... so just phone up or they may have flyers with prices etc in the actual gym.

At the gym I worked at, it was 14- however, if you were under 18, you had to have your parents sign a consent form.
