Now this is a game I can really get into . . . . :D

The State of the Union Drinking Game
"Mr. Speaker, the President of the United States..."

The general rules of this game are no different from any other drinking game. A drink is either a shot or a good gulp from a beer (or cider). Different events call for different numbers of drinks and all you do is watch the speech and play along. If all goes well, you'll be unconscious by the time they show the other party's response.

GAME TIME
This year, President Bush's State of the Union address is scheduled for January 28, 2003 at 9pm (Eastern). It should be broadcast on all major networks and cable news/political networks.
For online coverage, go to http://www.c-span.org/executive/stateoftheunion.asp.

The critics have weighed in on last year's game:
"That's great! Very clever!"
"Holy s**t! I nearly died laughing!"
"That's a riot!"
"A political and alcoholic tour de force!"
"The 'feel good' drinking game of the year!"
"That is sooooooo funny!"
"Hysterical, funny, can't wait to play..."
"That's hysterical! I will be forwarding this site along!"

Reactions from those who played last year:
"I'm f**king drunk!"
"Very funny, guys. Thanks for the laughs."
"To drink that much I had to buy Busch beer. Just looking at Hillary though makes this beer drinker want to switch to vodka!"
"We all had a great laugh! You are both very clever!"
THE BEST: "25 minute into speech and slipping beneath tabl3, thanks for great game. Sent out ot F&F cros country and feed(drink?)back very [positive. Sorry about what spel chk did not catch, you inderstand tho'."

I am playing this (thanks to technology, we in Australia are getting the speech live) except I have a variation; you eat a pretzel instead of having a drink, and if all goes well you'll choke and pass out before the end.

I heard about this on NPR on my way home from work yesterday. I could have wrecked my car I was laughing so hard. :D

Perhaps taking a swig of water instead could help people like me get their water intake up. *reaches down to the water bottle sitting on the floor next to her chair*
