Has anyone tried these? They're made in Canada but they have some American distributors as well.

And the best thing (for me) is they are gluten free.

I think that I will have to try them the next time that I buy burgers.

Ruth's Omega Burger
Ruth's Omega Burgers are vegan, gluten-free, soy-free and over 70% organic. Like all of Ruth's products, they are GMO-free, contain no hydrogenated or trans-fats, fillers or artificial preservatives.

Omega Burgers are based on basmati rice, and contain hemp, flax, a variety of organic vegetable, spices and nutritional yeast. Garden Vegetable has a great assortment of vegetables for a true veggie burger (why do they call those soy-based, vegetable-free hockey pucks veggie burgers anyway?).

Smoky Mushroom has a beautifully exotic, smoky taste and is loaded with mushrooms, including fabulous shiitake mushrooms.

Omega Burgers can be grilled or barbequed. They are found in the frozen section of your favourite health food store. If not, ask your store to look on this site for a list of distributors, or contact us directly - 416-588-4209.

We will soon be offering our Omega Burgers in food service as well for restaurants interested in serving them. If this means you, please contact us.

I haven't seen them at my local grocery store. If you try them, let me know how they are and I'll ask Superstore to carry them.

Will do. My Superstore carries them, so yours should be able to get them in as well.

I'll check out my Superstore to see if they have them already.

They're kept in the frozen natural food section of my store.

I tried the Garden Vegetable ones and they were AWFUL. I actually had to throw out the rest of the box, they were that bad.

Why, oh why do they have to use mushrooms? Mushrooms make me want to puke. Do not these companies realize there are many people who hate the taste of mushrooms? This looks like the perfect burger otherwise.

They sound great - especially being gluten free......Minibean, I'm sorry to hear that they were that gross. I wish I could try them to find out for myself if they're any good.

FR, are you sure that you're not my soul mate?

I hate mushrooms too! I was hoping that maybe they wouldn't be too mushroom-y in a burger...

Really? That stinks! That was the one that I was going to try.

Well, just because I didn't like them doesn't mean you won't. :) But honestly, I thought they were pretty gross. My favourites are Amy's California and Texas burgers, but they're not gluten free.

Hey, I never said I wasn't. ;)
