Okay so just a rant about taxes...I lived in Kansas my whole life until January of 2004. Before I took the big move to Colorado, I worked for about two weeks in January. I had $35 or something like that taken out for state taxes.

So from 01.11.2004, I've lived and worked in Colorado...having approximately 96% of last year's income coming from Colorado, also meaning the vast majority of state taxes were from COLORADO. But when I try to do these damn things online, it won't let me file CO State Return b/c I don't have a driver's license here (long story) and so it's only saying I made less than half of what I actually made here. When I tried to switch and say Kansas, they say I owe them like $200. UM....HOW ABOUT NO?? I'm not *paying* Kansas b/c I worked there for two weeks, especially since that $200 is like a third of what I made in Kansas!

:wall: GAH THIS IS SO STUPID AND FRUSTRATING AND I DON'T HAVE $100 TO PAY SOMEONE TO DO MY TAXES FOR ME!!!!

Okay. I'm done...for now...

:nigel: NO Cheers for partial-residence hoo-haa-phooey.

What online product are you using? I used Turbo Tax free-file. It was free for the federal and $19.95 to file my state taxes online. We moved mid-year last year, and it just gave blanks to fill in what was earned in each state. I don't recall it asking for any sort of DL for me or my hubby. If you go to irs.gov they will have a link to the turbo tax free file.

AWWWESOME...thanks. God I hope that works. If I can figure it out there, that'll be product number THREE trying to get these things done. First I tried e-file, then Tax Slayer, and so now I guess I'll be trying your suggestion. :grr: Pay to play, people. Pay to play.

I searched the IRS website and the Turbo Tax website, and I didn't find a free-file option anywhere. I found $5.95 was the cheapest, PLUS additional for state...

Do you have a link by chance?

I'm sorry I missed this earlier - here's the linky: http://www.taxfreedom.com/

Also, apparently the IRS is super fast this year. I filed less than a week ago and I already have both returns in my bank account. Yippee for fast money!
