I'm familiar with some basic poses and postures...When i search the net for a yoga postures and poses nothing but crap shows up...

Does anyone know any good yoga posture sites with a lot of poses and postures?

Hi Dave:

The reason you're probably getting a lot of nonsense when you run your searches is that it is very difficult to learn yoga postures without the guidance of a qualified teacher. I think you would really enjoy checking out some classes in your area!

That being said, Yoga Journal magazine has an excellent website, with various beginner postures that are very well explained, as well as great general articles about philosophy, health and breathing techniques.

www.yogajournal.com, and then click on "Poses" and see what you like!

i like yogadancer.com's asana index. lots of postures there, with many variations, pictures, and good descriptions.

i agree, getting training from a teacher is best (but i'm biased, because i'm a yoga teacher!). anyhoot. :)
