View Full Version : Is this where you post problems/bugs?

I hope so, cuz I can't find anywhere else to do so...
At any rate, my problem is with marking forums read. Whenever I try and mark an individual forum as read, it doesn't work, but marking ALL forums as read works everytime. Very weird.
Thanks for any help.

This is where you post "problems" yes.
I'll add another one.
If I do a search on a keyword, and get several pages as a result,
and try to go from page 1 to page 3 I get teh "403 forbidden" message from the "border manager" ??

Mera'din - I think this explains your problem...

I found quite a few threads on the problem and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that can be done about it. I didn't even think anyone used it. :) They mention a hack that'll fix it but I won't be installing any new hacks until after the new version comes out. I don't want to take the chance of complicating the process any more than I have to.

1vegan - I wasn't able to duplicate your problem. I tried searching on "vegetarian" and went from page 1 to 3 but it seemed to work fine. Does it happen all the time? Is it still happening now? Wasn't able to find anything on the vBulletin support forums. Sounds like it may have been a temporary problem.
If you get it again let me know what you're searching on and I'll have a few people try it out. I just checked out the search function on vB3. Nice. :)

You didn't think anyone used it?? Yikes, I'm lost without it! How the heck do you track which forums have new posts without it? :)
Anyway, that's cool, I'll continue to use the mark all forums link.
Thanks!

Well, this is what I do and it does work. When you get here each time click the "view new posts" link toward the top of the front page. It'll bring up all the threads that have new posts. Click and read the ones you want and then click back to the list. When you get through the list click the "mark all forums" read link at the bottom. Works really well.

Maybe you can duplicate this.
Search members, choose M.
first page with members starting with M comes up.
Then I try to acces 2nd page.
Bingo : 403 company policies forbid access to this page.
The next pop-up shows.

We have a pretty good safety level here, wich also disables me downloads of *.zip, *.exe, and so on.
I don't get it why the safety thing is triggered by VB.
I can't imagine the s e x is in the url?

Another one.
Go to members (use button on top)
Select M
Then use the "page 2" button down on the page (1,2,3 next)
Then: 403 Forbidden.
Same thing with Members, Select B, Page 2
This might be just a security thing in the office network.
It's not bothering me but it's intriguing.

I've only used "go to new posts" once or twice. I know TVP will have new posts, so I go there first, and then CP and V&V. The other forums tend to come later on. I know, its much lower-tech to do it the way I do, but I'm satisfied.
