I sprained my foot in taekwondo class, and I can't stand on it... which means I can't do anything weight-bearing--not even walking or the elliptical.

I can't get down the stairs to my exercise room. (Couldn't carry a weight or dumbbell anyway, since I only have one working foot. Hopping around on one foot while holding a 20 lb dumbbell doesn't sound like it will work for me.) Can't drive to a pool for swimming (car is a clutch, need both feet to drive).

Can you help me come up with some exercises I can do in my living room that require absolutely no weight on my feet? The best I can come up with is:

pushups (with my weight balanced on my good foot)
tricep dips
crunches

Anything else?

Pilates of some sort...some positions you just have to have your feet up in the air...

You could have your hubbie carry free weights up to you and you could just to arm/upper body work 'til your foot heals...

Sorry to hear about that! Es no bueno

you can also do those pushups on your knees.

leg lifts! to the front, side and back. that's what i did a LOT of when i had foot surgery and couldn't walk on my foot for 6 weeks! you'll get through this, don't worry.

if you have small weights you can, of course, do loads of stuff with your arms while sitting.
