Thanks to PETA's 'Accidentally Vegan' list we now know this stuff is vegan.

Personally, I like to brown some crumbled soyrizo in a frying pan and then mix it into the Jumbalya at the end. It's really spicy, and really good. I can't believe I like this stuff because I always thought chorizo is nasty.

Any other suggestions? How do you guys make it?

I'm thinking about trying the veg shrimp next :hungry:

Really? Vegan Jambalaya? How's it taste with the soyrizo? :hungry:

Very spicy and very good. I have never had Jambalaya before trying the above combo so I'm not sure how it compares to other recipes.

Sounds about right.... It's usually made with smoked sausage (Boca is good) and shrimp..... The soyrizo is just sounding pretty yummy right now, though.

I've done basically the same thing with the Dirty Rice mix and Yves Ground Round. Mmm.

OK I'm going to play around with this and try to find a vegan smoked sausage.

I made it last night with the fake vegan frozen shrimp. I liked it a lot but I could not con my husband into trying it.

Okay, this is the first time I ever had Soyrizo and it's been quite a while since I've had Jambalaya for obvious reasons. I must second that if you like spicy (not hot -- just really strong in terms of lots of spices) combining Soyrizo and Zataran's is quite yummy.

What is frozen vegan shrimp and where do you get it? (Please don't say Wild Oats because I don't have any of those near...)

Is it a seitan product or tofu or what? What is the brand name?

Just sounds interesting - I like to try pretty much everything at least once.

Tofu~Aren't we in the same city? I think I remember you saying you are in the Pacific NW. I got them at Food Fight on Division in Portland, OR. They are not for sale on the website and I don't remember the brand name. Sorry! They are made from Yam Flower and pretty tasty but totally protein-less.
