Any thoughts on the current storylines? I watched the newest episode of Angel last night and have to say that each episode (except the previous one) has been better than the last.

Well, it's out in the open that the actress who plays Cordelia is pregnant in real life, which is why I'm thinking that they had that stupid stupid plot twist with her sleeping with Connor. I don't know where the heck they intend to go with that. It would have been so much easier to work some bizzare-o "divine conception" thing in there since she was recently a higher being. I think I was getting tired of the Cordy / Angel thing, anyway. Did I miss something about Angel's curse? Isn't there a "true happiness bringing back Angelus" factor in their getting together? Any thoughts on where they could be going with this? I wonder if Cordy will get pregnant on the show as a result of their having had sex.

What's your take on Giles? Do you think he's really Giles? Do you think that he died (since the writers have yet to address what happened to him that episode that ended with the blade coming down at him whe he discovered the dying Watcher)? A lot of folks are speculating that he's just another manifestation of "The First" assuming that he [i]did[/] die. I'm also wondering about the possibility that the coven in England may have granted him the ability to function in an "undead" capacity to help the Scoobies fight this last fight.

How do you feel about a Buffy series without Gellar?

I read today that the UPN head has given a thumbs up to having the character of Angel cross over to Buffy this season, particularly in the event that this is the last season of BTVS.

I've missed the last couple episodes since I was out of the country.. but we watch them pretty religiously here too.

I always seem to get in trouble when I pay "too close attention" to Buffy...

wow i didn't know Charisma was pregnant. yeah when we watched the latest episode my bf groaned "greeeeeat now she's gonna get pregnant i bet" now that i know the actress is pregnant, i have to agree. not sure how they'll deal with it though, like will the kid be evil, will he/she still have vampire strength and all that like Connor, or will he/she just be a normal kid?

haha! my bf doesn't care much for Buffy, he prefers Willow.

anyway the theory with Giles makes sense, cause they don't clarify what happens to him. i don't know if they'd kill off another main character, but he sort of unofficially left the show anyways so i can see it happening. i was wondering how they'd go about it, cause it's only logical that someone would die, for a while i thought it might be Spike but Buffy went and saved him yet again, so i guess not.

as for Buffy without .. Buffy.. there were rumours when she "died" that if she leaves the show Dawn will take over as the slayer and the show will continue. i don't know if i'd keep watching it. i'm not really a big fan of Gellar but if they change the slayer, the whole show will change, including supporting cast. bah.

I haven't read through these because I'm still watching this week's Angel. I think Buffy is really good, especially so soon in the season. Angel is just boring the hell out of me. It's painful to sit through and it's been that way for a while. I heard there's some crossover stuff coming up otherwise I'd probably quit watching it. Anyway, if they were to continue BTVS (obviously with a new name) I'm sure I'd continue watching it. Even if it were Dawn.

Even if it were Dawn.

Nooooooo!

Yeah, I know everyone hates Dawn and thinks she's whiney but she doesn't really bother me that much. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather see a show based on Faith. :)

So would I, but I suspect that they'll kill her off this season when she returns so that the Slayer succession line can continue. Gellar will probably end up making guest appearances if she leaves the show. With the Council gone, and with the way they've tried to present Buffy as being mature with the new job and how she's often been seen with her nose in a book a la Giles lately, I guess that Buffy will end up going off to England to help rebuild the Watcher's Council with Giles (if he's actually Giles or is still alive).

yeah i think if she does leave and the show continues she'll still make appearances. just like giles "left" but still makes guest appearances like every other episode.

Dawn is whiney, or was, but she's starting to get a little more mature and i like that she's finally allowed to get in on the fighting and stuff, though she seemed to pick up Buffy's moves without any training whatsoever which kinda bothers me. i don't care how much you see someone kicking butt, doesn't mean you'll be able to do it yourself on the first shot. but you never know, slayer blood and whatnot.. i think they'll start making her a little more useful and grown up this season.

so how about relationship predictions? who will end up with who?

I think once SMG is done she's not coming back. I saw the homecoming episode from season 3 the other night when Willow and Xander are getting ready and kiss. I wish those two would have ended up together. :(

oh my god! I can't believe what they're doing. Just when it seems that they can't come up with anything better...they do.

Tsila-
That is such an interesting theory on Giles! I haven't heard that. Woah. LOL. Maybe that's true.....hmmmm. That would be such a Joss thing to do.
That would be cool if BTVS were to end now, if they bigrated all the Buffy characters to be on Angel. Angel's still going to be on isn't it?

OMG! did you all see Angel tonight? evil, bad, horrible writers, what a nasty nasty trick. i won't give it away in case anyone's not seen it yet, but.... just when you think everything's cool, bam!!! what the hell was that all about?
i'm rather upset over it.

it was so great!
*grumbles some more about the evil writers*

wasn't it? evil mean, cruel writers. it's good though cause the series was starting to get boring and repetitive, bout time they threw in something wacky

I have a feeling that the wackiness will get out of control before too long. ;)

From IMDB...

It's official - Sarah Michelle Gellar's hit TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer is set to end once its current season wraps. After seven years, the massively popular cult series is set to come to an end in May. Gellar concedes, "Buffy, in this incarnation, is over." The series will wrap up with a five-part story, which will include the return of Faith, the bad-girl slayer, and Buffy's first love, Angel. Gellar says, "We're gearing up to tell a fabulous, huge, great arc. It's going to be pretty spectacular." But the show may come back to life in some form - its creator, Joss Whedon, is planning a spin-off that may include some Buffy cast members. Gellar gained fame on the cult hit as Buffy Summers, a perky high school student burdened with the responsibility of killing vampires in the seemingly idyllic town of Sunnydale, California.

If there is a spin off, I will be there all the way. One thing I noticed about Joss and his shows is that when they first start out they tend to not be that great. But if you stick around for a while, things start to get very interesting. Hmmm, I wonder what kind of spin off he has in mind. ???

Figured I'd dig this one up since the series finale is Tuesday.

Also, Angel got picked up for next season, here's an article...

'Angel' wings in

As for "Angel," Frog has ordered another full season of the Joss Whedon-creative skein and will air the show Wednesdays at 9 p.m., with relocated hit "Smallville" as its lead-in. Frog has an option for a sixth season.

What's more, Paradigm-repped Marsters has signed on to reprise his "Buffy" role as punker vamp Spike. Other "Buffy" regulars may also make guest appearances next season, while Whedon has vowed to write several scripts and direct episodes of the show.

Jeffrey Bell and Tim Minear will be exec producers/showrunners.

Charisma Carpenter, who plays Cordelia, is not expected to return as a series regular.

"Angel's" recent ratings perfomance should have made it a shoo-in for a renewal.

Still, WB execs wanted to see how their drama development turned out, and, more importantly, needed to hammer out a new license fee deal with 20th. While "Angel" isn't a particularly expensive skein to produce, it doesn't do very well in repeats, making it tougher for the Frog to turn a profit on the show.

"Until we knew at what price we could close a deal for the series, as well as what the rest of our schedule cost, we couldn't make the call," WB Entertainment chief Jordan Levin said.

Still, unlike the rancorous Frog-20th negotiation over "Angel" sibling "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Levin said the "Angel" talks repped "a cordial, non-emotional negotiation.

"It's a deal that's acceptable for both of us, and also ultimately respects the fans of the collective 'Buffy' and 'Angel' mythologies," Levin said.

Wow... a whole Buffy thread & I didn't even know! Thanks for reviving it, Michael. :)

I don't get the appeal of Angel, but I might give it a try when Buffy's gone if it's on at a convenient time.

I was really happy with how it ended. :) I was fully prepared to absolutely hate it, most series finale's suck beyond belief.
