what is the weirdest, worst, best (but likely untrue), funnyist or most interesting excuse a guy ever gave you for not showing up for a date (please don't say none)

I don't have anything to share, but I was curious if you posted this because of an experience you had. (and if so, what was it?) I'm curious now. :D

Why not say none? If someone stood me up I wouldn't find it funny at all. It sounds very disprespectful.

I got stood up on Valentine's day once... For him to go out with his ex!!!
We were just starting a sorta relationship. So I guess I couldn't compare to the "history" he had with the ex-gf that used him to get him to buy her things.
Bah, who wants idiots? ;) That was a long time ago, too! But the thing is, I knew him for years before that! Good thing I found that he was a flake early on!!

Brandon, after I had bought a beautiful new dress, which I don't do often, called me the day before the Homecoming dance, to say: "I can't dance. Do you want to go to the football game instead?" Ugh, I detest football. Everybody knew that. I detested Brandon, too. I only agreed to go with him because he promised to behave and show me a good time.
Joey, whom I still think fondly of, became roommates with Brandon and a ton of other guys, some years later. Joey told me he couldn't go out because everybody got drunk and poured cottage cheese on Brandon as he took a shower, then gave him a bottle of beer to drink, the contents of which they had replaced with urine! On our second attempt at a date, some thirty-five year old OG from New York beat the crap out of one of Brandon's assailants, Nick, a soft eighteen year old kid. Porr Joey was caught in the middle of all this and couldn't manage to date me until he moved out.

iceflower, that reminds me of what my current boss told me when I was first hired. I'd been hired and was waiting to be "orientated". She told me to come in on Tuesday at 9, and we'd have Orientation. Well, I showed up a few minutes early as you're supposed to do. I went to the kitchen and found her office. She wasn't there. The cook told me that the manager wasn't coming in at all that day. She suggested I talk with the Personnel lady. I found out from the Personnel lady that Orientation wasn't till the next day. Then the cook told me that it common for the dietary manager to tell a new person to come in at a certain time/date, and then completely forget about it.

A guy I was dating was suppose to come pick me up, but never did!!! and I was waiting and waiting and even got worried that something bad had happend to him. 2 hours later while I was being mad, worried and cussing the hell out of him in my head, hecalls and tells me that he DID come to my house but I didn't answer the door. Apparently he came earlier than he was suppose to and I was in the shower with the music blarring and didn't hear him call or ring the bell.
I know he technically didn't stand me up, but hey.. just wanted to share the story!

I was stood up saturday night. He messaged me saying he'd been somewhere out of melbourne for the day and he would be home later than expected [later, as in around 7.30 not exactly late at all] and couldn't make it but asked if I was free next weekend. I replied saying no but that I'd leave it up to him from now on [not the first time he's done it] and he messaged back a few hours later apologising and asked if we could get together during the week then. I was a bit less angry so said maybe and then he replied telling me he was at a bar with his mates! The asshole stood me up for them!

There was the perpetual cheating liar
BUT he always showed up too... smelling slightly of perfume but with a damn good excuse.

I've never actually been stood up, but I do have a chronically late boyfriend...
The best was when he was supposed to come over between seven and eight and didn't show up until 11:30 . Some friends were whining at him that he never spent any time with them, so he met them somewhere. He called around 8:30 (grr) to let me know, and then around 10 I called him and he was still out with them (grrrrrr). Apparently his friend didn't want me to come because his wife and I teach the same subject and he knew that was all we were going to talk about. heh.
Well, my bf was supposed to be coming over to cook me dinner, but by the time he got to my house, I had had to eat and I was no longer hungry.
Getting used to his tardiness is the most adjusting I've ever done in a relationship. Of course, he's never been that late again...

Well...not *completely* stood up...but the d00d's smoking weed all Friday night and then being an all-around lazy jackass ALL Saturday playing computer games certainly did put a damper on camping plans HE had invited me to go on...
Some y-chromosomes will never grow up :junk: Where do I find these winners?
:nigel: Cheers!
