Yesterday, I stopped by one of the local thrift shops to pick up some things to wear for work. It's nice to have things that are relatively inexpensive, since they get ruined often/quickly sometimes.
After an hour or so, I came away with:
2 pair of Gap jeans
a pair of black pants
purple dress
black skirt
navy skirt
blue "felt"(?) skirt
nice black t-neck sweater
aqua sweater
cool purple shirt
red/black shirt
red turtleneck
dark green t-neck sweater
green shirt
jumper (teacher clothes :))
and a smokin' black dress ;)
Grand total with tax: $40.16 woot!

Wow - impressive haul! I love thrift stores. Buying used is a great way to recycle!

I love that so much! Great list!
What really gets me going is when the thrift shop has a 1/2 off sale. There is one near me that does that twice a year. Going on a spree is a blast. I have a friend I go with. She keeps up on when the sales are.

Anytime I go into a thrift store, I know that I will spend money. I always find something really cool, for very, very little. From bric-a-brac to shoes, it's there, varying in content from when it is that you go.
And there's something amusing about some of the stuff you see. You definitely see some random things in thrift stores, or at least that's how the ones I've been in are.

I have to admit I don't shop in thrift stores, but my 17 year old niece LOVES them. Shopping in thrift stores is one of her favorite pastimes. She has very eclectic tastes and an individual style, and I love her for it, because she doesn't fit the stereotype of the conformist mall-shopping teenager who dresses like a clone of everybody else, or even THINKS like everybody else.
Unfortunately, the rest of her behavior is still that of a typical teenager. :D

Damn, that is quite a haul! I love shopping at thrift stores. I have ever scince I was 13. It kind of sucks though because right now I live in an area with a ton of colleges so all the thrift stores around here are usually totally picked over and they are also seriously overpriced. Just old tee shirts go for like $15! And courderoys are $20. I might as well buy them new. So I need to travel a bit to find good stuff for cheap.
