*SIGH*...

We found out yesterday (after loads of tests and xrays) that our 12 year old cat Wizzy has liver cancer (caused by diffuse iris melanoma). He's never been sick a day in his life so it comes as quite a blow.

We went through all his "options" with the vet and really, there are no options left now except to make him as comfortable as possible. So we going to take an holistic approach to maintain his health.

Anyone else with a kitty with cancer and would like to talk?

Ida

Thanks, I hope so. His quality of life is the most important thing right now.

Poor little guy. :(

((((((HUGS))))))))

I am so sorry, Misanthropy. Cancer is an awful thing. I have never had a cat with it, but I did have 3 mice who did.

Wizzy is a beautiful kitty. And I think you are a wonderful kitty mommy. :)

(((((HUGS)))))) again.

Thanks SilverC. :)

I just hope that he is not suffering or feeling too uncomfortable right now.

That is so sad, I hope you can find something that helps.
Tincture of Reishi mushroom has been found to shrink cancerous tumors

I had a cat for 17 years that had cancer in her trachea I had to have her put to sleep when it got to the point that she was having a hard time breathing. It was very hard.

Thank you for the suggestion. :)

I've signed up for the Holisticat list and will also be going through all my natural health books for herbal and homeopathic treatments.

When he gets a bit better and more sturdy after this round of antibiotics for a related infection, I'm going to also contact a naturopathic vet in the area.
