I bought these for the first time last week and I liked them quite a bit. They are vegan.

Hmmm...I can't remember if it was Yves or Lightlife, but we bought some for a cookout, and I couldn't finish mine. :( Maybe it was that we grilled them, I'm not sure. I'm thinking it was actually Lightlife, though. Have you ever had those? How do they compare to the Yves ones?

I have not had the Lightlife ones...I tend not to like their stuff that much, though. However, my daughter said the Yves are not as tasty as Boca...but then Boca are not vegan.
I fried one and microwaved one...and saw no difference in flavor.
Since becoming vegan, I have lowered my standard for taste of convenience foods...these weren't fantastic, but I will buy them again.

Lightlife's "hamburger" stuff is pretty gross....but the "sausage" they make is amazing. I made my dad's famous "Biscuits and Gravy" using this and it was delicious.

Herself, I agree about the sausage. We eat it pretty often.
What I don't like are Lightlife's lunch "meat" slices...I like Yves much better.

is that the sausage that comes in a tube? amazing stuff. the yves version tastes pretty much the same to me and comes already in patties for frying. yummy with pancakes.
yves meat slices all taste like bologna to me though. the burgers are good but i haven't tried the chick'n ones yet. maybe i will now

Yeah, it's the one in the shape of a tube. AMAZING!

LadyFaile, I have never tried their burgers...
Have you tried Yves canadian bacon? We love that.

no i haven't tried that yet, it looks sorta gross, but maybe i'll give it a shot. for the record, the Yves sausage patties come in a package of 8 for the same price as the lightlife's package which i'm sure is enough for at least twice that many patties.
only dif is the Yves ones are precut and wrapped in pairs, so you can make 2 at a time if you want and not have to worry about the rest going bad cause they're still sealed. but i'm sure if i bought the lightlife ones the leftover wouldn't be around long enough to go bad :lick:
what about Yves breakfast links? the little bitty whole sausages. any good?
oh my grocery store has this other brand i've never heard of, in the health food aisle's freezer section. they have veggie burgers, drumsticks, etc. expensive but i keep debating if i should try them. i'll have to write down the brand name next time and post it in case anyone here's tried it

Does anyone know if Yves uses GMO's (genetically modified organisms) in their products? I am on this mission to find out who does and doesn't as I'd rather not eat GMO's when i can avoid them...thanks in advance if anyone can help out. ;->

I've been looking for vegan chik'n patties but the only ones I ever see which don't have eggs in them aren't the breaded style I miss. Now if only a store here would carry the yves kind, since I actually know what brand to look for...
peacecat, according to truefoods(http://www.truefoodnow.org/gmo_facts/product_list/meatalt.html) Yves doesn't use GMOs. Of course, as soon as I grabbed the link and started to post it I notice somebody else has already pointed out their site in the riblet thread. Oh well, for the sake of this thread I'll leave it anyway.

Health is Wealth has vegan breaded style chick'n patties that are, imo, really good. I love a lot of the health is wealth products, very yummy :)

Giving up chicken was probably the hardest thing for me about going vegetarian, so I'll have to try these!

I haven't really found a chicken substitute that I liked. I tried these too. The only thing that came close for me was the buffalo wings by Morning Star, so I gave up. I really don't miss it now that I haven't had it for so long. But, I hope it's different for you Seadolphin.

Seadolphin, I think tofu makes a better chicken substitute than these. I slice it thin (1 lb into 10 slices) then dredge in a mixture of equal parts whole wheat flour and nutritional yeast with some "chicken flavoring" (bought from healthyeating.com) and salt and pepper added.
Fry in oil, 5-7 min on each side or bake at 425 for 40 min. (turning over halfway through - adding a bit more salt, pepper and "chicken" flavoring.) I think it really tastes like chicken in a sandwich, with vegenaise, lettuce & tomato.

YES! Those are my absolute favorite "chicken" patties! They are sooo good. I first realized it when I was too lazy to toast a bagel and just ate one plain with ketchup. I was expecting it to be pretty bad, but it was awesome! They are kind of expensive though, so lately I've just been buying Trader Joe's "Soy Nuggets." Of course they're not patties, but that's ok. They're practically the same thing, and really cheap.

I used to love the Health is Wealth chicken-free nuggets. Do any of you know if they still make them?

I've been using Yves products for quite some time now as they were the first available to me where I live. I really like most of them. Along with the "chicken" burgers there are also "chicken" nuggets that my son really likes, I like them as well. At least it's something different. I checked on the packages of veggie burgers to see if they were non-GMO, but couldn't find anything. Seems to me that some of the products were or used to be. One warning...their soy cheese and cheese threads do contain casein, but I've contacted the company and they've informed me that they are having their research people look into this, as I told them it was primarily veg*ns that were buying their product.

I just saw Health is Wealth chicken-free nuggets at the store the other day, so I'd say they still make 'em ... so very yummy they are!
Now I just have to go figure out how to make my own vegan "honey" mustard sauce to dip 'em in.

Boca does carry a vegan burger, to clarify an earlier comment, but they're not my favorite. I like Whole Foods Markets' 365 brand.
What about Veat? Anyone try that stuff?

BTW, I'm trying to avoid LightLife now in favor of Yves, due to the following:

"The Associated Press

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- ConAgra Inc., the parent company of
one of the nation's largest beef processors, is adding a
vegetarian foods to its large menu of products... (more)"
