c-section question

i noticed that somewhere on here someone mentioned that they had had a c-section before. i was just wondering if anyone knew how long is normal to bleed afterwards. i just had my second son delivered via c-section (first was natural) and i bled till day ten, then on day 15 it started again. i am now on day 31 and it still hasnt let up. should i be concerned that i reopened the internal incision?

Hmmm... I think I bled for like 4 weeks after each one. But it wasn't heavy blood. It was thin pinkish watery blood and then eventually it turned brownish and let up.

If you are still having heavy and/or bright red I'd be concerned.

It was so long ago for me that I forgot. One thing that did suck is the incision on my stomach reopened on one side (less than an inch.. nothing too gory) and I had to go in and get that taken care of.

It's been a long time for me too, but I remember wondering when the bleeding would finally stop. On my second C-Section I got active faster (walking etc.), and it seemed like the flow stopped a little quicker (maybe 3 weeks). Do you have a follow-up appointment to go to? You could ask you doc about it then.

my follow up isnt for another 2 weeks. i know that the bleeding stopped a lot sooner than this the first time around, it was only like 3 weeks, if that. im jus wondering if ive been doing too much since the op, i walk everywhere, including the grocery store and about a week ago i brought the boys and the groceries home in the tandem stroller through a mound of snow that we had just gotten. and like i said, it stopped for like 5 days then started again. im not bleeding bright red, it has turned more brownish, and even though i wouldnt call it heavy bleeding, it still seems quite thick. maybe this will help answer my question.

I still had very, very mild discharge at six weeks. I hope you haven't been doing anything too strenuous.

I bled for almost a month after my emergency csection. It was really really light towards the end. SOmedays I didn't bleed at all... then it would start again...

i called the docs office yesterday. i was told that my obgyn is on vacation until 2days before my appointment and that she would handle any problems i was having when she came back. i guess the nurses dont figure its nething big, otherwise they woulda told me to come in, right?

IT STOPPED!!! thanks everyone for being there with your advice. i jus wanted to inform those of you who know what a big deal this is, that on day 39 (yesterday) IT STOPPED!!:D
