View Full Version : The I Ate Today Thread!

the what did you eat today thread is the i didnt eat today thread, and it is depressing, it makes me feel guilty for eating, and shows an unhealthy lifestyle. if somebody was veiwing this website they would think that all veggies have an eating disorder and that is not good! they would think we were all unhealthy! also i think that this thread should show healthy unique veggie meals so if people who were thinking about becoming veg and were viewing this site they would not be discouraged by thinking they would have to eat nothing or like a slice of bread. so this is the i ate today thread...you can only post if you ate enough calories, and if you ate healthy, etc. i also belive this will encourage people with eds...show that it is okay to eat...

Oep! See my last post in WDYET.
Maybe this is the "I ate Well today" thread?

Oh good. A thread that will hopefully remind me why I stopped having an eating disorder.
Ok, not the healthiest day of eating, but it was yummy!
B: 1 banana, 1 apple juice box, 1 full fat creme yogurt
S: 1 cup O's (like Cheerios only made from millet, spelt, quinoa, etc and nutritionally superior)
L: 1 egg sandwich on whole wheat, 1/2 a small bag of regular chips (too much grease haha), 3 deep fried wontons, 1 apple
D: veggie pakoras w/ tamarind sauce, 2 cups skim milk (mostly b/c that sauce was HOT), 20 triscuits or so
I know I had another piece of fruit today, but I can't remember what it was. Perhaps it was another banana

I don't understand why the other thread had to be closed? I understand your reasons for wanting a thread where people post healthy large meals that they ate, but why police everyone else who may not always eat fantastically healthy - or those of us who don't eat a lot some days but still may make a really nice dinner they want to share?
I think you can have a "What I ate healthy today" type thread - but please leave the old thread there for the rest of us. I am *not* recovering from or in the midst of an eating disorder, I just sometimes don't eat healthily enough or volume enough to qualify for this thread.

The old thread was closed because it is becoming a source of "triggers" for many of our ED patients. I know what you mean, I like to keep a daily food log just for my own purposes. Sometimes I eat well, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I'm impressed with what I cooked for luncheon, whereas I ate crud the rest of the day. But in light of recent comments about the WDYET thread, I think this is the best appraoch. The original intent of the thread was to share meal ideas. Not to just be a personal journal for all of us.
You can certainly just post: "Dinner: ..." And leave out the fact that you had an altoid for "lunch."

And it was never intended to become a competition thread over who eats the least, which it has become between a few people (we've gone through this before and started the thread over).

Blackberries? Excuse me, missy. Exactly how are you able to get blackberries while the rest of us are suffering in the dead of winter? :notvegan:

Hmm . . .should I even post here? LoL. I eat full meals but I'm not sure of how "nutritional" they are. Hehehe.
Breakfast:
Oatmeal. I put a teaspoon of sweetener in it and half a chopped up strawberry in it aswell. The oat meal is from scratch since I can't seem to find any oatmeal that doesn't have dairy ingredients it in. Damn you, Quaker! Any ideas? Also I had a cup of raspberry soy-yogurt and a glass of applejuice. I heard apple juice is better than coffee at waking you up so I'm giving apple juice a shot to replace my bad coffee habit.
Lunch: Veggieburger with soycheese and two chocolate chip cookies. I baked them myself, very tastey! Too bad everyone else ate them on me and I only got two. They were all like "I can't believe they're vegan, mmmmmmm." :nana:
Dinner: Fetteccuni (sp?) with a thick soy alfredo sauce. I hade a spicy V8 drink with that and I had a slice of apple pie and I added some cinnamon ontop of it. Big cinnamon junkie over here :lick:
Other than that I had snacks . . .granola bar, yogurt, etc.

i eat a ton of stuff. i usually eat like 5-6 meals a day. i can't believe how little some of the people that have been posting in some of these threads eat. they must not even move all day long or they would burn all the calories they get just walking to the door of the house...
anyways:
1st meal--
a glass of orange juice and a glass of water. a giant bowl of raisin bran and other cereals mixed together with two bananas in it and 2 cups soy milk. two pieces of whole wheat toast with peanut butter. a sun-rype fruitsource fruit bar.
2nd meal--
two leftover refriend bean & rice and vegetable burritos and salsa from last nights dinner. more oj+h20. a bunch of pretzels. handful of royal nut mix. two carrots. half a cucumber.
3rd meal--
4 pieces of whole wheat peanut butter toast. glass of soy milk+h20. a pear and an apple and a grapefruit. more pretzels.
4th meal--
a can of tomoto soup with some cous cous added as well as a ton of veggies -- carrots, snow peas with shells, onion, celery, green onion, green pepper. two pieces of whole wheat toast with margarine. a few glasses of water.
5th meal--
four pieces of toast with an avacodoe spread on them. a big mixed green salad with flax oil/olive oil/vinegar dressing --spinach, green leaf, red leaf + chopped tomato, carrot, radish, peas, as well as a bunch of nutritional yeast added onto it.
6th meal--
2 more pieces of ww toast with peanut butter. soy milk with soy ice cream and soy protein shake. another fruit and veggie bar. apple.
thats about it for today i think.
i think it all amounts to like 5000-6000 calories. i know my breakfast is like 1300 calories alone. so maybe it adds up to more. dont have the time to do the math for it all. i eat every two-three hours usually. im trying to eat more because i want to gain weight/mass because i am bodybuilding. however, i usually tend to eat quite a bit when im not bodybuilding -- just not so much toast and peanut butter. my usual diet is not usually this varied and cooking intesive but right now i am home all day so i can cook whenever i want.
mind you sometimes my diet is really bizarre if i am hitch-hiking/travelling and don't have any money. then i pretty much eat whatever i can.
