View Full Version : Paranoid during period?

Maybe it's just me, but I get soooooooooo paranoid during my period about 'period things'. One paranoia is that I'll leak and not realize it. Then of course when I get up they'll be stains on the chair and on my pants! I don't like wearing tampons because I have a heavy flow and unless it's the last day it just feels yucky. The other paranoid thought I have is that my pad will fall out while I'm at work or around people!!!!! Anyone else?

I worry about the smell more than anything. I bleed quite heavily and if I can't get to a washroom to change my pads, I wonder if anyone can smell it.

I usually wear two overnight use pads at one time. That's the only way I can prevent leaks.

I have your exact worries, Alfiedog, haha. But leaking has only happened to me once (and i've got extremely heavy flow) and a pad has never fallen out. no worries!

Oh, boy, I've had a major leak when I was a teenager, wearing pair of white printed shorts. I bent over to pick up my suitcase, and *everyone* could tell. I've "been a woman" about twenty years now, and I still go to the bathroom way more frequently that time of the month.

I have relaxed a little bit though. Some might think it's crude, but I have no problem telling people I'm OTR.

OTR!!! that cracks me up pavlovskitty!
alfiedog--have you thought about something like the keeper? there are a few threads about it or similar products. it is a silicone cup you use and there really isnt any chance of leakage if you empty it--and far less infrequently than a pad change, IMO.

Another extremely heavy bleeder here. I have had to leave work more than once to change clothes. For the first 2 days of my period, it's almost unstoppable. I use the highest-absorption tampon I can find, AND an overnight pad (no thin maxis, please) and still I have to run to the bathroom to change them waaaaay too often.

Paranoid? I don't think so.

I leaked out at work today. Nice, she decided to show up at a really odd time. Luckilly I was wearing red underwear and although it started out really heavy, it hadn't quite hit or stained the scrubs. I caught it and took care of things.

When I feel paranoid, nothing ever happens. When I feel confident(not paranoid) that's when it always happens to me. Ah well.

I have been paranoid about that happening during my workout class. There have been a couple close calls the past few months - I guess all that jumping around makes my period a little crazy and extra heavy.

Last time I was on my worst day I just skipped working out, even though working out makes me feel better having an accident like that would be too embarassing (even if it is a class full of woman!)

My problem is the opposite... I forget. It'll be like "what in the world is wrong with my back?!?" Oh yeah...

It would be kind of weird to be worried about 'period things' when you're not on your period!

Thanks for mentioning that Silver C - after reading that I went out for drinks with some collegues and I was sooooooooo paranoid about the odor. I was like 'they can smell it, they can smell it' - now another thing to add to my list of paranoias!

Smedley - I've seen the threads on the keeper - I'll look at them again. So it won't leak, and it won't fall out - how about the odor?

lol! this thread is really funny!

since i am on the pill, my periods are like clockwork- i always know exactly what day they will come. its on tuesday.

one thing i'm paranoid about, however, is that tuesday is my day off- sometimes i have the tendency to sleep in really late after staying up till all hours of the morning, and by the time i get up, my period will have already have come! :(

it makes me so very sad when i ruin a really cute pair of panties. it sounds dumb, but it makes me

LOL. Don't cry - at lease it didn't happen in FRONT of people! I never wear undies to sleep anyway, unless it's during my period.

I'm paranoid about my smell just after my period. I always get this really strong musky smell at the end and just after and I'm always afraid someone can smell it.

Leaks worry me too but I always wear thick jeans or black clothing so I don't worry *too* much.

My period used to be very heavy. One day in class I leaked, but thank god, I had black pants on and I don't think anyone noticed. I went straight home and washed them though and then returned to school! Now I'm on the pill, and it's so much lighter and less painful (not that it was that bad before) that it's strange!

As all these posts have shown, it's definately not weird to have lots of paranoia about that time of the month- I think it's pretty natural, lol.
