Stinks! I just had some of the new Sour Supreme with my latkes. Yuck! It just tasted like sweet thick white stuff. Which I'm sure might be marvelous in potato salad... But it's not sour cream! The old stuff was so exactly like sour cream it was amazing. I gotta go stock up on the un-healthy kind before it leaves the shelves!

Oh man, I love the new kind! It tastes just as wonderful to me. It doesn't keep as long, but we go through it quickly anyway.

It must be a change in the recipie beyond the oil, as hydrogenation/non-hydrogenation should not effect the tast that much.
Before you do, please take 10 min out to read what partially hydrogenated oils do to you;

I was just on the phone with my local Whole Foods market. Is this new Tofutti preservative-free? I found out they weren't carrying Tofutti because of the preservatives, as WFMs are now preservative-free.

Steve I know all about what hydrogenated oils do to me. I avoided them for a while. I now try to balance my diet and not be so maniacal about little bits of bad fats. And the space in my diet for allowing hydrogenated yuck is Tofutti, dernit!

It's got natural gums and mono- and diglycerides. Are those preservatives or stabilizers?
