A friend just gave me a dropper bottle (brand new) of Bach's Rescue Remedy. I only know what she told me and that is that it is a homeopathic and a 100% vegan extract of 5 "Bach Flowers" to help with stress and anxiety. She swears by it! It's safe for kids and for animals...

I plan to do research before taking...but I was hoping first for some non-specialized-interest opinions from you all! Have any of you tried/heard of Rescue Remedy and/or experienced any side effects?

i've used this many times, for myself and other family members. i think that it works great if the trauma isn't *too* much...but when you are really upset/hurt, the effects are negligible.

never had any side effects.

I've used it on myself and I'vealso used it on pets. It's a staple at our animal hospital also. I too will swear by it.

I use it on occasion, and it works well for the more subtle stresses. It doesn't do anything for a full blown anxiety attack or anything, but it's nice to have in the ol' pocketbok.

For those who have tried it- what effect does it produce? Can you describe it for me...?

All flower essences I have tried help me to get more of a handle of the situation. It's not that they are sedating, or anything like that, they work more to balance your system. No side effects whatsoever, very safe.

I've used it before, and it was pretty good. It just calmed me down, and like missleigh said, it helped me get a handle on the situation. I've never had any negative side effects from it. For mild to moderate stressful situations, many people swear by it. If you are a recovering alcoholic, I wouldn't recommend it, because I think it has alcohol in it. Other than that, It's 100% safe.

It helped me at work when my co-workers or deadlines stressed me out, and it helped me when family stressed me out.

I use it. I keep some in my bag and I usually end up using it when I am driving because I get anxious. It seems to calm me down almost right away. I've also given it to my son when he was having a crying fit and couldn't breath and it calmed him down too.

I just discovered this stuff a couple of months back and I love it.

My bf takes it every night because he was suffering from vivid, terrifying nightmares. He hasn't had one since he started taking it.
I bought it originally to deal with my arachnophobia. It was getting out of hand, where I was avoiding doing things because of the fear that I might encounter a spider. I started taking this when that anxiety rose and it makes a huge difference. I even got to the stage where I touched a garden spider (I tried to get him to climb on my finger, but he wasn't really up for the idea :) ).

It also helps if I can't sleep because I'm anxious, or just can't concentrate because of anxiety.

I can't tell you how it works, but it does. :) It doesn't space you out or anything, just eases the anxiety and makes your thoughts clearer.
