Would you eat the gross stuff on Fear Factor even though it's usually animal for $50,000?
I saw a vegetarian moving cow hearts on an episode. She pukes after. That's what made me wonder...
I wouldn't do it vegetarian or not.

I try to avoid reality programming. I think most of it usually brings out the worst in people.

No, because I would never go on a reality tv show. There's not much that's truly real about them.

I hate the show, but if I was on it,
IF IT WEREN'T AN ANIMAL, but it usually is, i think i'd do it.
it's my problem. i'm surprisingly competitive. i like games-- if i can win them.

I'd like to do the stunts on the show, except eating things like that. Once they were getting attacked by trained dogs instead of eating things, I thought that was a bit better but I'm not exactly big so the dogs would probably toss me around like a doll. On another episode they just had to stick needles through their arms. Easy as cake.
I could do a lot with $50,000. I'd try.

I avoid the "reality", and I use the term loosely, shows. I agree that they do bring out the worst in people and I see enough of the worst of people daily without watching it on tv. Seems whenever I am changing channels and i pass it someone is covered with bugs or eating a whale penis and I almost want to puke just seeing it.

Same here. I really can't stand reality TV.

Yes. If you really wanted to you could help a lot of animals (or people) with that money.

I can't even watch the Fear Factor commercials, let alone the show!
Money isn't enough of a motivating factor for me.
Oh wait...$50,000 would not only cover my husband's student loans, it would leave enough for a down payment on a house.
Hmmm...maybe I'll have to re-think my response.

If it were vegan, I'd do it. I sure could use a big chunk of cash to put a dent in my student loans...
As far as "a vegetarian moving cow hearts on an episode", well, if you meant that this person was eating dead animals, vegetarians don't eat dead animals :p

I used to think I'd be great on fear factor because I could do things like clibm up the sides of tall buildings and then crawl along the ledge and such
and I could stand snakes and bugs and things.
And I have no boobs, so I can actually crawl across things on my stomach with no problem (I've seen boobs be a problem)
But then I realized I can't swim (and am terrified of water) and also won't eat anything from an animal and would therefore have no chance of winning. My dreams are dashed.
not really.
but if they had an episode where I would be guaranteed to not have to go near water and to not have to eat anything nonvegan, I'd still do it.

Absolutely not -- reality television is dehumanizing.

She didn't have to eat it. She just had to move it with her mouth. I'm pretty sure even if she accidently swallowed some it came right back up. Is there a three second rule with vegetarians? :)

I'd do it if I could.
But I can't handle eating grosse things all that well. Like.. my body would just shut down.. and vomit.. sort of thing.
No amount of money could change my natural reflexes.. I dont think.

My morals are not for sale, so no.
If it's vegan, I'd try it, even if not for the money. I've tried some pretty damned strange foods in my time. Even just yesterday I ate mouldy tofu that had been left to rot for half a year. (yes, I really did. It's a Chinese delicacy)

I wouldn't go on fear factor ever.
But if someone offered me $50K to eat meat, dairy or eggs I would probably do it once - depending on circumstance.

That was my thought too. But I don't know if I physically could, since I can't even watch others do it.

You would kill an animal/s to help others?

Even when I ate meat, I wouldn't have been able to eat the gross stuff I see on the commercials before I squeal & change the channel. I'm pretty squeamish.

Hm...I dont know, we've had topics similar to this before, the old "would you eat ____ for ____ dollars?" And A lot of people are very quick to reply "No", however, it's a lot different when the money is actually THERE and yours for the taking, peoples convictions vanish pretty easily when a lot of money is involved.

I have no convictions. :D I wouldn't do it because it's so gross that I can't even watch other people do it.

If it didn't involve any animals, sure, I could do it. I'd give a lot of that money to Farm Sanctuary.
If I was required to eat any of those things they've had to eat in that show, though, or otherwise harm an animal, no, I couldn't.
