I feel like I should make a scatterplot of those figures... perhaps I should just do my statistics homework instead, eh?

Updated to include March 2003 statistics. I'm sure we'll see quite a jump for April. ;)

I really want to see the April stats... I have an odd feeling that you'll have the biggest numbers then... I wonder why. ;)

That will be funny to see April. We'll look back and say what's this crazy outlier. :D

How many contributing members are there ?

(or is that privileged information?)

Oh heavens, April will drag out that tail and make such a skew...

Any chance of getting stats of people who join and then post once and never return, and also rough percentages of people who return once a week, twice a week, more, etc? Working in the web industry we're always interested in measuring the success of a website, and returning users are one of the best indicators of success for a community site.

Well, I just cleared out everyone who had been a member over one year and never posted. If memory serves me correctly there were about 180 of them.

As of right now we have 999 members, 498 of them have either posted once or not at all.

As for how often people visit, I don't really have any way of knowing right now.

So you have 501 members who have posted more than once. Out of that you can assume about 50% post regularly, so you must have about 250 active members.

So 1 out of evey 4 people who took the time to register to the site have made the decision to continue contributing to it. That's pretty bloody good if you ask me.

Yeah, those new stats are pretty much what I expected. 580 new members... I was thinking it was more like 200. :/

Not only old Vegewbers, but many others seemed to wonder in this past month.

Maybe all the closet omnis who've been wanting to join took this opportunity, hoping they wouldn't be noticed.
