I have pneumonia, and may have to go to the hospital. I am coughing up blood, and feel like crap. I really don't want to spend Christmas in the hospital, but I don't want to be sick anymore. Please say a prayer for me, light a candle, send positive thoughts etc. Thanks! :)

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear this! I wish you the best. I'm sure you're already doing this, but take care of yourself, the best you can! I don't know much about pneumonia and how they treat it. But perhaps the hospital could give you a shot of antibiotics and send you home after a few hours.

I am on some super strong antibiotics, and some killer cough medicine right now :naughty:. If it doesn't improve by Friday, my doctor wants to admit me. I have chronic bronchial problems. At least this cough medicine is making me happy!

I had pneumonia last year. Misdiagnosed originally so I walked around for another week + until it got so bad I had double pneumonia and pleursy (sp?). Should probably have been in the hospital, but HMO's are... well... cheap.
Rest, rest, rest. Take care of yourself dear!

Off topic:
Now who out of you two is pointing at who, in one avatar, catgirl67 is holding a gun and in your dawngirl the poor kitten is being held to ransom. What gives in the kitty gangster world... Who is winning? :D

I'll send you all my get well vibes. And drink as much water as you can possibly get into your body. It will help thin out the goo.

I had Pneumonia about 5 yrs or so ago, but the same thing happened, only I was misdiagnosed once, then again 2 wks later, then when I went back 2 wks after that the doctor (Who I had told two weeks prior that my left lung was making a "bubbling noise.") goes "Oh, you have pneumonia. Its so clear we won't need a chest x-ray." Idiot. It sucks, really, I hope you're better soon.

I'm sorry to hear you're sick, catgirl. As nice as it is to be home for Christmas, if you do have to go into the hospital, at least you'll know you'll have many, many more Christmases to celebrate.
I had pneumonia once 20 years ago and didn't even know it. Don't overexert yourself in any way. Your lungs are working hard enough fighting off the infection.
Cheers (holds up glass of neocitrine and makes a clinking sound with your cough medicine)

Take care of yourself.
I lit an imaginary candle for you. My kitten likes to knock over the real ones, but rest assured, it's lit in spirit.

Poor you. You've got my prayers. I had pneumonia at christmas 6 years ago. Half way through the dinner I coughed and puked up the meal. Uggh. I thought it was flu, but after a couple of days my husband called out the doctor for a home visit when I started hallucinating and raving. My poor husband was scared s/less and thought I'd gone bonkers. Apparently people do hallucinate when their temperature goes very high.
It took weeks for me to get 100% well again. It was the worst illness ever. And caused by a virus. If I ever find out who breathed on me they are so in trouble...

I am officially better! :sunny: :sunny: I did not have to go to the hospital after all. I got to spend Christmas with my daughter and mom.
Thanks to all for the support. That meant more to me than any of you will ever know. :)
