I need to vent.

One of my favorite quick foods is no longer going to be vegan :(
Chicken-free nuggets by Health is Wealth are no longer going to be vegan. I am so incredibly dissapointed. I might have to go to the store and stock on on the few that are left...

I need to mourn this loss.

What?!?!?! Why? What is wrong with them the way they are now? Why do they have to mess with a good thing? I am going to email them. Bastards!

I hate it when this happens. I used to eat Linda McCartney stuff, and then they stopped being vegan. Grrr.

Oh, if that's true, than I'm pissed. Those are great. I don't eat them often, but when I feel like a quick dinner, they're irreplaceable.

Let's start an email writing campaign!

Well, it's true. (http://www.healthiswealthfoods.com/chick%20free%20nug%20pat.htm)

Their website has only 6000 hits, so it's probably a small company. An email writing campaign might be quite effective.

Here's their feedback page. (http://www.healthiswealthfoods.com/feed%20back%20form.htm) My feedback is already sent!

Make sure to send constructive feedback and nothing hostile! :p

Not to spam this thread, but I thought I'd post that I just started threads on this topic at two other boards, so I'm hoping to kick off an effective email-writing campaign! Hear ye Health is Wealth, don't mess with vegans!

I didn't like their vegan ones (tried them once). /ducks

Also, I've found that many products that went from vegan to vegetarian actually tasted better /ducks again

:(

I hope you get them back being vegan, however.

Oh man. I'm not surprised. Those things are awful. I'm not saying this is a GOOD thing... But... It's not a surprising thing. I'd prefer them to just take em off the market altogether.

FYI: Mon Cuisine Chicken Nuggets are awesomeness. See my other thread about them. :)

So am I the only person who stopped eating these a couple of years ago when they shipped actual chicken nuggets in the packaging for the vegan nuggets and didn't recall them or apologize?

I thought this was pretty well known on every online vegetarian community as well as the not online vegetarian community.

Oh my god, I didn't know they accidentally put real chicken nuggets in the fake ones' boxes!!! I ate them for the first time in California at about the same time that guy said he had them, and I thought they were really good and scarily real tasting...ugh...I ate REAL chicken nuggets?? I believe they were drumstick shaped, like the real ones, too.

Well, even if they were fake ones I ate, and even if they do keep the recipe vegan, this company isn't getting my business anymore.

This sucks...I have some in my freezer right now...I think I'll try to stock up, too. I posted a comment on their site...thanks for the link, mikie!

Man, I have the hardest time finding vegan quickie chicken substitutes. The Quorn stuff is delicious, but it all contains egg whites, which I'm trying to phase out. Guess this is another option down.

This is what I wrote to them:

Your Health Wealth nuggets were completely fine when they excluded eggs in the ingredients. The texture was perfect and the taste. Eggs do not add to the taste of food. In fact eggs are gross, unhealthy, and disgusting. Why anyone would want to eat chicken menstruation is beyond me. I hope you reconsider making this disastrous move. I'm sure you will loose business over this. People aren't going to see your product in stores and all of the sudden be like "Ooh, they now have eggs; I think I will buy these now". People bought your product because it did NOT have eggs in them.

I bought them because they did not have chicken in them, until that changed.

I just wrote them. I eat very few fake meats and of course this was one of the few. It happens to be the only vegan chicken nugget they sell in my area. I liked them because they don't taste like chicken to me. I can't handle anything that tastes too much like meat. :wall:

I went to the store this morning and checked to see if they had the new ones yet. They did, to my disapointment. But I decided to look behind them and the last three were the vegan ones. I guess they don't rotate. I usually only buy them on sale because they are $4.59 a box, but these will be my last so I splurgged.
