RIP Joe Strummer 12/23/03

Joe Strummer the singer and guitarist for the Clash died yesterday at age 50 of an apparent heart attack. Strummer was the political push behind much of the Clash's lyrics and the band was a huge influence then and now. SInce the Clash broke up in thew early 1980's strummer resisted calls to reform turning down the call to clean up on punks exceptence into the mainstream.

Music has lost another great. Goodbye Joe.

I just noticed this thread but I was saddened by the death of Joe Strummer. I was never a huge fan of the Clash's music but I was a big fan of their attitude. I did like a bunch of his solo stuff "Joe Strummer & The Mescalaros.

I was devastated to hear about Joe Strummer's death - The Clash have always been one of my favourite bands, and Joe's solo stuff was great too... why do all the best, and most influential, musicians seem to die so young?
