So here's my problem...I love playing tennis, and since it's currently fall and it gets dark at 5:30, I can't play for another three months or so. I can't get motivated to work out since I come home from work, and it's all cold and dark outside, and all I want to do is put on some PJs and relax. I miss those days in May or June when I would play tennis from 5:30 - 8:30, come home and eat dinner, and basically pass out on the couch from exhaustion! I've even had dreams about playing tennis and swimming!

For now I've been running about once a week, which is something I actually enjoy doing, but I don't want to run every day since it's hard on knees, ankles, etc. What can I do to make exercise more interesting so I don't gain back all the weight I worked so hard to lose this summer?

The "Running is hard on the joints" thing is mostly a myth. Unless you personally find it is? If you start slow and train, it's not actually hard on your knees.

I second joining the hamster thread :-)

How 'bout racquetball? Might wanna call the sports facilities in your area and see if they have courts. I reckon it'd improve your hand-eye coordination even more, thus making you a better tennis player.

What about a near by gym?? The gym is always fun! Once you go in there and see all the people working out, sweating but having some fun at the same time, you will wanna do it too. At least that is how I feel. Also, the FitTV Channel has some good programs if you have that channel? They are fun to work out with and you can do it right in your living room. Or just download some techno/rave/dance music and just make your own work out. That is what I do and it is fun. :D
