As do I! I'm *slowly* getting there.... :-/
Nothing for me today, for I have a bad cold & am quite achey & tired. So, it's off to bed for me soon. I'm sure that tomorrow I'll feel up to some activity again.
Great start to the week, everyone!!

808, I remember feeling like that. Many years ago, right after I quit smoking I started running…well I really started walking and then running a little in between. Anyway, I could hardly make it around two city blocks! I thought I was going to die! But I kept pushing myself to reach my goal of…well, a 5K (not 5 miles). I still wasn’t in great shape when I finally did the 5K, in fact I doubted I could finish it…but I did. You just have to want to do it and then make it a priority in your life, and believe in yourself.
Flower, Awww...you poor thing. I hope you feel better soon.
Shadowlee, great Hamstering!
annabanana, great run!
catswym, excellent workouts!!
Go Hamsters!!

well tonight I was watching Dr.Phil family weight loss challenge and started to cry because I hate the way I feel about myself and wish I had someone physically here for support.
So I did 50 wall pushups and 30 chair squats....
I hate being motivated by hating myself....I can't see the forest for the trees....
I'm going to take a shower now and cry more...
see you guys tomorrow.

Aw, 808, the same thing happens to me when I watch Fear Factor (aka T&A Factor). I know the progress is slow coming, and I wish I had a neighbor who I actually liked who could be my workout buddy, too. We'll just have to settle for the cyber-motivation.

Lots of us started that way, 808. I can remember putting my workout clothing on and feeling really disgusted at all the lumps and bumps of fat I had. You just need to focus on your goal, and on having fun! If you hate yourself during it and are miserable, then it's no good to you.
I often get motivated by watching movies/anime with a lot of action in them (no, not the XXX kind ^-^ ), maybe that'll help give you some positive motivation?

I don't know, motivation for me, is a real person beside me telling me it's ok and doing it with me. I can't tell my mom how I feel because her exact words are "that's stupid and get over it", she has told me she just can't understand how people get depressed....I started a bit of a journal.......good night guys.

well today I feel better. I had a banana and coffee for breakfast and would not let myself have a snack, so when I ate lunch today I was able to eat almost everything and not feel sickening full like I usually do.....I need to cut down on sugar and snacks....
BTW Thanks guys....

Marathon report! It was so amazing! Oh my gosh, best running experience ever! It was a little cold at first, but the weather was great... sunny, relatively warm for the beginning of December, I couldn't have asked for a better day! And know I am going to write a sentence that doesn't begin with all exclamation point... so yeah, the course was really hilly and it was muddy and went through streams. But I loved it! It was ironic, me being from flat as a pancake northern Indiana, passing people on the hills. My time was 4:19:13, and they said that the trail adds roughly an hour to your time. I went a little too slow in the middle of the race and finished the last 10K in 49 minutes! I got 75th overall (out of 305 I think) and 6th out of the females. Then I wasn't tired enough afterwards and went out dancing for over 3 hours that night...in heels! It was a long day for sure.
My legs feel really good today and I'm thinking about an easy 2 mile jog tonight if it will stop raining.

Congrats, NDvegan :-) That's really impressive, marathons take a lot of training.
808veggie, do you go to exercise classes, or have you considered it? Would having other people in the room doing it with you (though not necessarily cheering you on) help?

Like I said in another Hamster thread, I can't afford classes, so I've been slowly doing a routine in my limited space at home i.e. learning to do wall pushups, chair squats etc.....Also the gym class if it was not yoga, it would have to be all females.

Hehehe. Tonight I skipped the gym in favour of using my day spa voucher that my husband gave me for our first wedding anniversary. I had an exfoliating body scrub, followed by 20 minutes in a spa munching on yummy fruit, followed by an hour long massage and a parrafin hand treatment. Mmmmmmmmmm, it was fabulous! If I was a millionaire I'd have this every day.
I will take my softened and relaxed bod to the gym tomorrow night.
