Recently my mother and I bought 20 kilograms (44 pounds) of apples. We didn't actually set out with the intention to buy that many, but that's how it ended up. We bought them at a local-ish orchard, for $1/kg.
So, $20 for 20 kg.
We then ended up at the local grocery store, which was selling apples (the same kind) for $5.49/kg.
So, for 20 kg, it would cost $109.80.
We saved $89.80 by buying from the orchard!

(Not technically, because if we hadn't bought them from there, we sure as heck wouldn't have bought them at the store.)

Now of course I just have to eat the apples...

You can cook them up and freeze them. Then you can use them as and when needed.

Ooo ... You can also core and bake them. Then fill the core with vanilla soy yogurt and oats. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Yummm.

Haha. It'll take me about 10 minutes. Come on over and tell Gnarly to bring the apples.

Me? Apples? What makes you think I have any apples? :D
I think i'm just going to eat them raw, mostly, and dehydrate them. I just thought it was cool that i saved like, 90 bucks. :)
