I just rented this from the library and I am already really super excited.

[what is says on the back of the movie]

"Hello. I'm going to read a declaration of a state of war. Within the next 14 days, we will attack a symbol or institution of American injustice." -Bernardine Dohrn.

Thirty years ago, with these words, a group of young American radicals called The Weathermen annoucned their intention to overthrow the U.S goverment. Fueled by outrage over the Wietnam War and racism in America, they went underground during the 1970s, bombing targets across the country that they felt symbolized "the real violence" that the U.S. goverment and capitalist power were wreaking throughout the world. From pitched battles with the police on Chicago's streets, to bombing the U.S. Capitol building, to breaking acid-guru Timothy Leary out of prison, this carefully organized clandestine network attempted to incite a national revolution, while successfully evading one of the largest FBI manhunts in history.

I'm effin excited! Everything was so much cooler before I was born! Why did my parents neglect to tell me about this?! People were so passionate back then. I must say I orgasmed when I read what they did for Timothy Leary. What happened?

I just finished it watching it. I was amazed that there isnt more mention of these people, especially since the whole "terror" thing. They were kind of involved with The Black Panthers, and when Fred Hampton was killed, they wanted to bomb a police ball? But the bomb went off in their house killing them, and then they went totally underground.

I was amazed at what these stoned pissed off teens did. It was really quite remarkable what they did, and even more suprised that they got away with it all.

Cuz you see, the FBI was so intent on catching them, that they broke almost every law to get to them, so something like 85% of the charges against The Weathermen were dismissed. Only like 2 memebers spent time in jail, but their jail time wasnt related to Weathermen activities at all.

It is very intresting, conservative or liberal, except the only people I think that wouldnt like it would be rascists. Because. Well. That's what the Weathermen were fighting along with Vietnam.

I reccomend it! :)
