As winter approaches, I can't help but think of my favorite winter activity- running!! I love dressing up in my muffler, hat, two pairs of socks and gloves, tank top, long sleeve shirt and fleece, spandex and running pants, and running shoes and busting out into the freezing cold for a nice, long, sweaty run in the snow. Alas, I haven't been able to go for a proper run for over a year now, due to my busted hip flexor :furious:

So here's a thread devoted entirely to the bitching and moaning of those who love to run/bike/swim/dance/play, but can't, due to some kind of injury/achiness/pain. Share stories, get advice, etc.!

you can still do stuff---maybe of the mind moreso than body, don't stop thinking(at least) what you CAN do whilst being prevented partially what you CANNOT physically.... The cannots will largely only create negative, but if you want negative (hell I sometimes do) then go for it.... :tired:

For instance I'm buying me some grippers for hand strength over at VeganFitness.net. Now surely you have mobility in your hands. Hands are the first point of contact & co-ordination when working with them, and that covers just about all that we do :)

My ankle's been getting really sore lately. But only when I run on pavement, so I guess I can easily relieve this by running on trails!

I love to eat taffy and other chewy foods, but I have to limit myself due to a dislocated jaw. Bone rubbing on bone (my cartiledge disks are gone) is not all that pleasant. Does that count? :p

I have problems with my knees- as soon as I start exercising again, I wind up taking a break because my knees hurt, and then I have a hard time getting started again.
Excuses, excuses, I know.

Not really an injury, but asthma has kept me from engaging in any vigorous cardiovascular programs. I no longer have health insurance and therefore am unable to acquire my meds.

I can't really do H.I.I.T. , have to focus on light training.

At least I am able to weightrain still, it's so annoying when you are unable to weightrain due to a jammed finger or something though, which often happens if you play alot of basketball.

I just injured myself - It's just a little one and judging by the way things are going, I'll be running next week. Still, I'm so frustrated because I love it so much. My running club meets on Saturday and I'll go and walk the four miles. Not fun!
