I have one dog hes a golden retriever. I wanted to get a hampster, guinnie pig, and a kitten but we cant get anymore pets because my dog would chase after them. He even attacked a kitten once and when we found it was almost dead. :( I wish that my dog want so vicious but he is really funny too. He tries to hop on the rocking chair when we arent around then when one of us comes in the room he quickly hops down knowing hes not allowed up there. lol. He even plays tug of war with me. And he tries hiding his dog bones under things like my dads shoe!!! lol

What pets do you guys have and what are some funny things they have done?

just a cat for now, but he seems to think he's a dog sometimes. he drinks from the tap and hides his toys IN shoes.

cool. i wish i could have more pets lol. I want a pet penguin. I saw on TV where someone had a pet penguin but the specific type of penguin didnt need to be in the cold? I always thought they had to be where it was cold like Alakska or antartica.

Penguins aren't domesticated, so they wouldn't make very good animal companions.

I have 2 parakeets (2 yrs. 3 mos old and about 7 mos.) I have a newt and a giant snail, numerous guppies, a million small snails. They are all suck sweeties. I never thought I'd have domesticated birds but I decided to. They are such nice creatures and sensitive and smart. The newt does not do much but lay around and swim sometimes.

I just have a dog... and I hardly have time for him anymore, too.

8 rescued cats. 5 former ferals, 2 former strays, and one who was literally handed to me on the streets. 5 boys, 3 girls.

Peace,
Maggie

I have a cat, an old one but who seems healthy, though she's small. She likes to bring me her toys when she wants me to wake up.

I also have a suckermouth catfish. He's loves vegetables (and ate all the plants I just bought for his tank.)

My parents used to have at one point 6 cats and a dog. Now it's just 2 cats.

I used to have frogs and newts. The newts would frequently escape until I figured out how to stop them.

I have an old yellow lab/golden retriever mix male that I snagged from the pound about 6 or 7 years ago. He was in pretty bad shape when I got him. He was guesstimated to be 5 at the time and weighed 29 lbs. He was depressed and lonely and wouldn't eat. He's still like that today, but he weighs closer to 80 lbs now! His registered name is Lucky Lou, but we call him Lucky for short. Or Lucky Luck or Lucky Dog, or Lucky Duck...whatever comes out at the time. He wouldn't answer to the first 3 names I gave him. One day I was talking to him and told him that he was such a lucky dog to have an owner like me and I was so lucky to have a dog like him. Well, he perked right up at the word Lucky so that's what stuck.

Then, 2 years ago I was washing my truck and was taking a break while sitting on the front stoop. I watched this car pull up like it was going to park and it sat there for about 5 minutes or so. I saw the back door open on the opposite side of the street and the car pulled off. They left behind the cutest Shepherd mix. It was just standing there not knowing what to do. I walked over to her and picked her up and we've been loving each other ever since. Her registered name is Heidi Ho, or Hodie Ho, or Heidi Hi, or Ho-Ho..whatever comes out. She takes care of Lucky in a motherly way. I almost lost her though when I took her to the vet to get neutered or spade, whatever you call it for a female. Anyhow, she's a bleeder and they almost couldn't stop the bleeding and she almost bled to death during the surgery. I'm so glad she's o.k. In the process of loving her to pieces nursing her back to health, I baby'd her. So, she is very spoiled but as sweet as sugar.

i have a turtle, cat and beta fish. they are my little buddies!!! my cat is fat and happy. I feel bad for my turtle cause he needs a new tank, but as long as he has his rock so he can sit in the sun he is happy. :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi:

At present, 4 dogs: 2 Lhasa Apsos, 1 Maltese and a ****zu. I lost my Brittany a while back, which for 13 years was the best natural bird dog I ever saw . . . :(

The best dog I ever had was a Great Dane. He was smarter than a lot of humans I know and the perfect combination of loyal, loving and protective. Died of cancer at 6 . . . . . ugh

i am really afraid to put my turtle in the wild just because he is sooooooo domesticated that i just couldnt bare the thought of him not making it out there. plus i get way to attached my animals that i would problaly cry if i woke up and didnt see him

FD,
How did you get them to all line up? Do they all like that couch?

FemmeDemonica
01-13-03, 02:45 PM
You know, it was so weird that they were all on that couch together. They actually have their own preferred piece of furniture. When I saw them laying there together, I had to creep back to my office to get my digi camera, hoping not to wake them up. They rarely lay around like that together...that's why it's such a cool picture for me. :D

Birdie's big belly. This was back in our old apartment--she loved that place. It took her a while to get used to the new house.

Edison. He's five years old. We adopted him from a rescue group in November. That picture makes him look bigger than he actually is. He's smaller than my cats and weighs about 8 pounds. He's a neurotic little guy. :p

Is your dog a chihuahua, FD? Edison doesn't quite look like my ex-bf's chihuahua Sara, but certainly there are variations on what chihuahuas. (And for those of you who are thinking it, when I was dating that guy, it was kinda wierd that his 13 year old dog had the same name as me.)

FemmeDemonica

Yep, he's definitely got a little chihuahua in him. And maybe a little terrier or something. It never fails that whenever I'm out with him, some random person says, "Yo quero Taco Bell."
