My mom has a teacup chiauaua(?) and it pees on EVERYTHING! Even when you let it outside it spends literally 15 minutes peeing on everything outside too! Any suggestions I can give her to help stop the marking thru out the house?

Have a vet check it, maybe a bladder infection? Has it been fixed? Is something stressing it out? Has it always peed on everything or is this new behavior?

well, someone threw it out and my mom took it in. So, I don't know the dog's history.....it is a boy and the other 2 inside dogs are girls, if that matters?

If it is a boy and unfixed..that why.I have a fixed boy and he still pees on anyhting and everything (outside,of course)..even when he has no pee.

What a geek...he keeps trying and trying to pee and no pee.

The males are despretly *trying* to mark their neighbourhood territory, and to get the smell of the other meales away.

Or check for an infection-but mine is 5 yrs and it's normal.

Have your mom's vet check for a UTI, thyroid disorder (do a T4 and a FT4), and then kidney problems to rule out that stuff.

Yes i agree you should take it to the vet and ask them for some advice on why the dog might be doing this,it could be a bladder infection and you know thats never fun

Wheter or not he is neutered will definately play a huge role. Even though it is not uncommon for fixed males to do it if they were neutered late etc.
More than likely it might be behavior, but it still needs to be checked out. Take him to a vet have them run blood and urine tests to determine if there is any medical issues.
Chihuahuas are also one of the hardest breeds to housebreak overall. Most toy/small breeds can be tricky in that department. If they're intact, forget about it.
Hope you find some answers soon.

Take him to the vet to rule out medical problems and have him neutered.

Make sure you clean up any messes with an enzyme-based cleaner like Nature's Miracle. If he can still smell it, he's going to keep doing it.

Don't punish him for going in the house. Unless he's caught in the act, he won't make the association anyway. If you catch him peeing, just take him outside to finish and praise him when he does. You could also give him a treat at first after he goes outside as he is getting the hang of it. Dogs are usually very motivated by food!

If the vet determines it's behavioral and not medical, I'd recommend reading The Dog Listener by Jan Fennell. Dogs, especially males, use urine to mark their "territory" and the more the dog thinks he's in charge, the more he's going to claim "this is mine." This woman is a master of how the dog mind works.
