I'm getting frustrated: I really need lipstick/gloss for my dry lips (-did you know lipstick reduces skin cancer in the lip area?), but I am unable to find a vegan product.
I just discovered that my Logona lipstick contains carmine. I also am using up a Burt's Bees balm loaded with bee products. My Weleda balm is also beeswax-based. :(
I can't remember if Ecco Bella contains animal products or not.
The two things I am *not* willing to do are give up using lip products, or use "cruelty-free" products that are loaded w/ petrochemicals like Beauty Without Cruelty.
Can anyone help?
BTW I would like to buy the products in Canada if possible.

I love Merry Hempster's peppermint vegan lip balm and Zuzu Luxe lip gloss, both found at vegan stores online, such as www.veganunlimited.com; www.veganstore.com; www.veganessentials.com; www.differentdaisy.com.

I like the Zuzu Luxe lipsticks. For lip balm, right now I'm using the vegan Merry Hempster one. Not all Merry Hempsters are vegan though, only the ones that say vegan on the label.
Ecco Bella has some lipsticks that are vegan, and some that are not. Pangea carries only the vegan Ecco Bella lipsticks: www.veganstore.com

I use Pangea's brand of lip balm. I have the orange vanilla flavor right now and I love it. It also is SPF 15. Have you looked into Origins? I believe that most of their stuff is vegan.

All of Aveda's lipsticks are vegan except the uruku line. Also, most of Hemp Organics is vegan except for a few that contain carmine. A Different Daisy sells only those that are vegan; so I just copied their list and brought it with me to the local HFS which also carries that line. Zuzu is good if you like really frosty or super dark lipsticks. They're vegan, but their color line is very limited. Ecco Bella sucks except for mascara. None of the above lines are loaded with chemicals and Hemp Organics has a very short list of all-vegan, easily pronounceable ingredients.

Origins doesn't make a single vegan lip product except for their lip glosses (they've all got beeswax).

Damn. Too late to add anything to this party. Lots of great recommendations. The pussy pucker pots are a lot of fun. I swipe a little from the wife's tin once in a while...

Actually, I used to love Aveda but then Estee Lauder bought the company. EL conducts animal testing, do they not?

I am still using up a couple of lip balms w/ beeswax. I am eliminating beeswax eventually, but in the meantime it definitely beats tallow.

I like the pussy pucker pots, because, heheeheee....

But right. Big fan of Pangea's own brand of vegan hemp-based lip balms. Don't believe there's a lot of chemicals in them.
