Today was another 45 minutes on the treadmill, all on level 8 hill climber. I jogged for some of it too. That sucked.
Then I did some arms and legs resistance training.
How about the squats and lunges?
I only do those through my normal daily activities. At work, rather than bending my back to bend down and pick something up, I do a big ol' grande plié. Does that count for anything? lol.

Thanks slynny :-)
Tonight I'm going to judo, 1.5 hours. (I'm a yellow belt, but I'm supposed to be tested for orange belt this month). Anyone in martial arts here?
I think there are a couple hamsters that practice MA... Gnarly, and Kat, if I remember correctly!
Thats cool your into Judo!! I played judo in high school (hawaii)... I took TKD before that (my dad teaches in hawaii) -- But now I'm taking Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, and I love it 150.007%.
Today was 1 1/2 hours practice. That is all. I must take a shower now. My muffler fell off of my car on the highway on the way home.

I got an 8-10 mile ride in. My computer died a bit out, so I don't have an exact figure. The days are so short now, there's no riding time :(

8 mile run today :hamster: It felt soooo good...I felt like I could go on forever but that probably isn't a good idea :D It started to get dark so I got off the running path and ran the last mile on sidewalks really fast, mostly because the path was all squishy (from rain) and I had a lot more traction on the sidewalk. It's been a while since it felt that good to run :)

808veggie, if you don't mind some advice:
I've been reading your posts here, and it might help you to start small. Take 5 minutes to stretch and do some pushups one day. Another day, take 10-15 minutes to walk around the house or do some intensive cleaning in one spot or another. Make sure you take a small lump of time every day to do something active, and eventually you'll build up to a half hour and then longer for workouts.

I just feel like it's not enough. I mean I went shopping with my mom tonight and we went to 2 stores and walked til my feet hurt! But to me, it's not exercising! My BF will be here in 63 days and she has promised to be my bosom workout/stop smokin buddy! :vebo: :vebo:

Hmm. Well true, 15 minutes of something isn't exactly intense, especially when you compare it to most of the entries in this thread. However, I think if you asked around, most people do start out pretty small, especially if you don't particularly like exercising at first. You're not going to go for an hour if you really don't like it/feel miserable.

It may not be intense, but you have to start somewhere! I hate to pull out the cliches but... Rome wasn't built in a day :) Most people can't go and run a marathon with no training, so don't expect to do super-intense things right away. Start small and it will pay off in the end...that way, you won't 'burn out' so quickly either. You'll stay enthusiastic about it instead :)

The first time I went to the gym to really "work out" (i.e. not attend a yoga class), I walked on the treadmill for 20 minutes, and left. Thats not a whole lot! At the time, that was all I felt comfortable with, and even then I DYING by the end of it (first cause it was harder than I thought, and in part because I had broken out in hives. i've since learned to pre-med with an antihystamine).
You can read what I do now. I've learned to use almost every resistance machine, can use the bikes, elliptical or treadmill, and I walk at a brisk pace up and down hills on the treadmill for 45 min now! AND have started adding in periods of jogging.
You have to start somewhere! I felt really stupid that first time just turning around and walking back out again in 20 minutes, but it was a start. I'm the laziest person on earth. If I can do it, ANYONE can!

30 minute walk. It was a brisk walk, though, out in the cold. I had planned to run, but it was just too cold for that. Also did some yoga, about 25 minutes.

When I started running again, I started with less than 2 miles at a time and worked my way up. I'm now doing a marathon in 2 weeks. You've got to start somewhere, and here is just as good as any place!
Yesterday was a complete rest day and today was a 4 mile run and 25 min weights.

Today was just 45 minutes on the treadmill. Tried the "random" button today, and it was similar to the "Hills" button, only it didn't have as much "level ground." Alternated jogging and walking for 2.56 miles!
Then I left cause I was afraid my dad would be waiting all annoyed at home to do the grocery shopping, but he's not back from church yet. I coulda done my resistance training! Maybe a bit with my dumbells later. :P

Good for you! I don't know how old your daughter is, but I'll tell you as an older child of a smoker, it upsets me SO MUCH to see my mother smoke. I know its going to kill her and everytime I see her light up I wonder how much longer its going to be before she develops cancer or something and we're going to lose her. Aside from her own health, I've developed reoccuring bronchial asthma (comes with every cold I get) because of the exposure to cigarette smoke. I rarely get a cold that doesn't turn into a secondary infection because I have a weak respiratory immune system due to the smoke, and I rarely don't get a cold that goes around for the same reason. Keep these things in mind when you're thinking of having a cigarette. You aren't the only person who needs you to quit! Its important for your daughter too!

Congrats veggie, that's great :-)
Sky: How about you're not allowed to shower until you've gone for a run?
Today I did another walk/jog for 35 minutes (still too cold to jog continuously), then I did pushups/crunches/weightlifting/stretching when I got back for about 20 minutes.
