Mission: The VeggieBoards Hamster Club is a group of fitness/health minded vegans and vegetarians who support each other in their endeavors in fitness, diet, and health. Anyone who chooses can post to this thread. There are no dues or fees, just a desire to share our efforts and support one another.

13 mile run this morning. It felt great and we had perfect weather for it. Cloudy and cool. And cool to us Californians is 55 degrees. :)

Yesterday was a 4 mile run and 25 min weights.

Today was a 6 mile run w/ a warmup, 30 min of intervals, different times, but each on was 75% hard, 25% easy, warmdown.

I'm addicted to running.

4 mile run today, with the middle two miles hard. Also about 15 min. free weights and some ab stuff, and a vicious game of hide-and-seek (i.e. run from the dog in the house for a while and hide :p ).

45 minutes lower body weights
stretching

my butt is so sore today . a good sore, mind you.

The hamsters thread was shutting down everytime I clicked on it for a couple weeks, but it looks as though it works now.

I haven't ran for 2 weeks because I have been having mass amounts of shoulder pain-though I did go surfing...
Cross country is over for me now, so though I have a 4 mile run planned for tomorrow, it will be quite easy to get out of it, which is a bad thing. Hopefully writing it here will motivate me more to go for one.

sunday was 3mi walk.

yesterday: 3mi walk, 50min aerobics.

today: 3mi walk, 80min yoga.

Hi Hamsters, 12 mile run yesterday. It’s now on my list of the top 10 hardest runs I’ve ever done. It started out great it was a beautiful sunny day…well a little on the chilly side at 45 degrees, but the sun made it feel warmer. My hub ran with me so it was nice to have some company. A few miles into the run we came upon a couple of deer so we stopped to watch them for a minute. They did not run for some reason but stood their ground and watched us; they were only about 10 feet from us, seeing things like this is what makes running outside so nice. Anyway we moved on and it started to get windy and then became overcast, it started to feel a lot colder. We were running a faster pace than I’m used to but I was feeling good until about 8 miles into it, I got tired all of a sudden, I didn’t think I could go on but I had 4 miles to go. We had to stop several times to walk, I was cold and my muscles started to tighten up. Uggg, I don’t know how I found the strength to finish, but I did…121minutes. Afterwards I felt crummy too, almost nauseous. I couldn’t eat anything for about 3 hours, usually as soon as I’m done running I begin to eat everything in the house. Today I feel fine and did my exercise class in the morning. I guess it was just one of those things.

Great run Captain, sounds like you’re feeling better.

ND, great runs. You are going to be so ready for the big race. :up:

aw, sorry you had a kinda tough run, slynny...but at least you hdad company and saw some puppies, i mean, deer ( i call cute things uppies...)

got to the gym early today -
20 minutes cross trainer
20 minutes treadmill
20 minutes spinning
stretching
700 crunches
40 minutes upper body weights

but now i just gorged myself on gingerbread pancakes. hm.

Thanks, slynny. I'm trying to be good with my diet, as well. My legs seemed more...strained today during my short walk, too. It's only down in the low 60s, but there's a chill in the air. Pretty soon I'll have to wear my ear bags (http://ecom1.sno-ski.net/earbags.html) so I don't get an ear ache.

walk with Filo - 1 mile - approx. 15 min
Winsor Pilates - 20 min
treadmill - 2.25 miles, 3.5/4 mph w/ speed/incline intervals - 35:33 min

Exercise class this morning and I'll run 3 miles this afternoon. :sweat:

Funk, I just remembered while we were driving through WI this past weekend we passed a road called Funk St...hehehe...made me think of you. :rockon:

christy, ya I have to wear my headband over my ears as soon as it gets into the 50's or I get terrible ear aches. Hehehe ear bags...cute.:D

3 mile run today, and about 45 minutes worth of walking throughout the day. Also pushups, bicep curls, tricep curls, and core strengthening :)

looks like i took yesterday off and today too..unless i find time to squeeze some yoga in. i've got so much work to do..but i feel gross cause i havent had a day off in a long time :(

7.5 mile ride. Didn't want to go far, didn't have a hand pump with me in the case of a flat. My first ride of the winter season, got an early $400+ X-mas gift, the biggest gift I've ever gotten --- essentially a shopping spree in the bike store. $420 got me all my cycling gear for the winter.

Exercise class today...she really kicked our butts. I plan on running 4 miles tomorrow, Sat. is my day off, and Sun. an 8 mile run. I won't be going up north for a few weeks because it's hunting season and I am afraid to go out in the woods, hiking, running, or whatever. To many knuckle-heads with guns :gun: and most of the land around us is public so hunters are everywhere.

ND, Awesome :wayne: ya, 17 miles will make your legs hurt...just make sure it's good pain and not an injury before you run again...are they just achy all over or is the pain localized.

Thanks slynny! It's definitely not injury pain... but it's more intense than just achy... more like someone took a hammer to my quads. Hence the elliptical and no running today! I should feel somewhat better tomorrow (I hope!)

wed: 3mi walk, arm work and lots of crunches.

thursday: 3mi walk and 35min yoga.

today: probably just the walking.

sigh...i dislike it getting cold and not having enough time to do fun and exciting hamstering...
