I'm Peter Pan. I'm never going to grow up.

But in a few years I'd like to maybe be a police officer, and then after 5 years be a police dog handler..

as I want to:
-Work with the law (but Id hate being a lawyer)
-Help people
-Not work in an office everyday
-Work with animals
-Have very practical work, as apposed to writing etc.

So it seems to fit me perfectly!

You may remember in all the other threads like these I've said "Radio dj!" and I even got accepted to do a corse on it next year, but yeah.. I changed my mind.. as you just sit there and talk everyday.. in the same 4 walls.. which isn't what I'm into!
I need to be out doing things!

The other thing I've been considering is a nurse.. cause again it's the help people thing.. After being in hospital I saw it's something I could actually do.. Before I was all "Hell nawwww!" about seeing grosse things, and needles and blood... etc.. but now I'd be fine with it.

If I had a normal life I'd be planning on being a detective, cosmetologist/makeup artist, or actress/director. Also some job involving fighting for animal rights. I like swimming but that's not really a job..

Oh man, I am totally screwed... I don't know what I want to be and I only have a year of high school left. I'd like to grow down instead of growing up...just become a little kid again, things would be so much easier.

I'm currently enrolled in a pre-vet/ pre-med undergrad program in college.
I'm hoping to get into vet school when I finish up my undergrad in 4 years.....which may or may not happen right away (vet schools are MAD competetive to get into).
If I don't get inot vet school, I'll either 1) Go to get my certification to become a vet tech (like a nurse for animals) or, 2) try my luck at med school and become a people doctor. :D

this question has been killing me for the past year I think ..... i'm 18 but this is my second year in college. I wanted to be a chemist for a while and this semester i have decided that i'm not going to be a chemist anymore. I love 3D stuff and i'm good at it (like say sculpture or ceramics) but don't know what career to pick. Architectrue sounds cool though - i love thinking stuff out and building models and i love shapes (doesn't that sound weird " i love shapes" ?) but i'm not that good at drawing ....... or maybe Sculpture. Jeez i still don't know .......
errrr i'm just gonna take a lot of art classes next semester and talk to my ceramics professor.

I change my mind all the time!! I think about it constantly coz I'm at the point where I have to make a decision!
I have a job interview tomorrow for a child care traineeship. I think I'm going to do that for a year, then go to uni and get a Bachelor of Education and be a teacher (EC or Primary).

Apart from that I want to get married some day, and do stuff in places like africa & india n all that for poverty etc etc

i am currently in my first year of college, majoring in Neurobiology, physiology and behavior, I hope to tranfer to UC Davis to finish my major and then I want to go to UCLA for medical school (I want to be a pediatrician)
currently I am also getting my EMT certification - but I won't be able to work on a rig (ambulance) untill I am 21 because they won't hire 18 year olds, because they are more expensive to insure, so I will try to get a job in the hospital as an ER tech
next semester I am going to get my phlebotomy certification - so then I have a second job possibility while I do my undergrad, a job in the hospital (lab tech) or blood bank
right now I am volunteering in a hospital just to be around it untill I have the certifications to apply for a job :p

I wanna be an environmental lobbyist or attorney. Something like that. I've always been kinda interested in law and government, and I also want a job where I could really make a difference for the environment. But I probably wouldn't wanna be one of the enviro-lawyers for some huge nasty corporation, unless it was a company that was really into having environmentally sound business practices.

Stey, I've never actually met a kid who really wanted to be a dentist. I'm kind of dentist-phobic... but that's cool, i'm sure you would be better than my dentist. He's mean.

I always say that I want to be a mermaid, but that is very far-fetched. I've always loved acting, so I want to get into that. And if that doesn't work out I am going to get into hairstlying, and all that jazz.

My major at the moment it theatre design

Ideally, I'd end up being an actress. It's a silly dream, though, and not really practical. What I will probably/hopefully end up doing is working in a costume shop or a scene shop in a theatre.

What I'd like to do, if I can learn all I need to learn to do it, is to have my own children's television show. like Shari Lewis. or Captain Kangaroo. or even maybe the Wiggles. I want to bring Children's television back to becing interesting and colorful and fun. All it is these days is mundane cartoons that are annoying and talk down to the kids. I could put it all together- my theatre training, my love for kids, my creativity when it comes to technology and design, my musical and dance training...

I'll obviously have to get some training in mass communications and producing film and such, but I've still got four years for that...

I was thinking "Ohh I didn't realise you could major in something so young.. and I didn't know she was into theatre.." but then it was AoD.. not Misq :p

I had my child care trial today. I didn't like it lol. Time for a new plan.
Either work a normal job for a year, then go to Uni and do Primary Education.
Or do a traineeship/apprenticeship in something else.
Decisions decisions.

i feel, with how frequently i am asked this question, that i should just adopt what has been my mom's answer her whole life: "i'm gonna be a black man when i grow up!" (one look at my avatar would show why that is funny :p)

i don't know... i used to want to be a singer (still would totally love that), then i really wanted to just be a writer, then i started thinking about being a teacher, and i've thought of many other possible career paths as well... my problem is i have too many interests to settle on any one thing! my latest idea is that i'll be a disgruntled math professor who writes poetry on the side :D

but hell, i've got a lot of time left in my life -- enough time, theoretically, to do everything i want to do! so i'm not too worried.

scratch that. I am really bad at being a fascist. I'll leave that to David Bowie and Marilyn Manson.

I want to be the female version of Neal Cassady. that would be ill.

I've thought of going into dentistry, but really, I don't think I could stand to look into people's mouths the rest of my life.

Right now I'm majoring in Natural Resources and Environemtnal Sciences. NRES. I'm probably going to be a forest ranger when I grow up, to be honest. I'd love to be a laywer, but I couldn't stand the thought of using all of that paper  Being a chef wouldn't be so bad, especially in a RAW restuarant, but I'm really uncreative when it comes to food, so that's pretty much out.
