Cake Mix Cookies

This recipe is suitable for a:

Ingredients:

Any vegan Duncan Hines cake mix
2 sticks vegan margarine
Egg replacer for 2 eggs
1 bag vegan chocolate chips (Ghirardelli)


Instructions:

Mix ingredients together and drop like cookies on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Refrigerate the dough before baking for best results.

BF and I tried making these tonight and they were something of a disappointment (although the batter was good).

They were flat, greasy, and...yeah.

We had to guess at the oven temperature since the recipe doesn't specify, we tried 350 first and when the first batch came out wonky we tried 325 instead.

We followed all the directions exactly, I don't really know what went wrong. :confused:

If there's no 'personal notes' telling me how the original poster enjoyed them or makes them or why it's their favorite or whatever, I steer clear of the recipe.

It seems consistantly that when I try a recipe that's generically posted (not just here) I get very poor results and end up wasting time and good food.

yeah when I made these they spread waaaaaaaaay out and I ended up cutting them apart. My sisters like the way they tasted, though. The recipe is good, as far as I'm concerned, but should be made as a cookie cake instead of cookies- and the last part should say something about letting them sit out to cool for a long time before trying them. otherwise they just kinda fall apart.
