Being sincere here. On my way home today, I dropped into a local dollar store and bought 3 cans of cream soda, some chocolate, chips, pencil lead, cookies etc., all for $10.05. Also, lost a 25 cents coin in the store. I ate one dollar worth of stuff already. Nowadays I am doing this splurge every month or sometimes even every two weeks. Certainly not frugal. On the other hand, I don't feel guilty about this.

What is your latest unfrugal splurge ? Please share here.

I bought a fancy, expensive vibrator, when I could have used my hands. How unfrugal!

Thanks for sharing. My most unfrugal splurges were when I used to work in a job with fairly long hours a few years back. I ate out most of the time, the quality of the food was also not that great. I also had no idea about frugality. One can imagine my expenses then.

*L* You answered that like she bought a fancy new vacuum or something.

I just put in an order...(like five minutes ago) for $200.00 illustration markers. Bad me... although I use them for school and work. But, that is just an excuse cuz I really just like using them.

Cool, I love markers. $200 sounds like a lot of $, but I bet you will get good use out of them.

Thanks for sharing.
Actually, compared to a lot of vibes, this one wasn't that spendy.

Ughh... are we talking unfrugal or frugal?

Maybe because it was treats rather than "real" food?

Oooh... perhaps. Cause I definitely spend way more than that on groceries! :p

Well, I've been poor lately and not spending any money and last night I bought my friend and I a long island iced tea and the two came to $13.00. Way out of my budget, but we felt it necessary to drowned our post-election woes. :D

This is true. Unfrugal as it is a treat and not real food.

I could have bought Frozen OJ for this. Still feel that the splurge satsfied me. Otherwise, I could have spent bigger.

That is expensive. Iced tea is so easy to make.

well yeah iced tea and long island iced tea are two different things...

and yeah borealis... I love tria pantone markers... they rock the casbah! I will undoubtedly get lots and lots of use out of them.

Now I see why it was expensive. Thanks for the clarification.

I would probably have settled for a home made Vodka, Gin, Rum and Coke mix. Or something along those lines. If you like it often, better to buy them individually and mix at home. Or if possible settle for just Vodka/OJ.

Why is 10 bucks expensive for me ? I have a worst case recipe. In a real worse case scenario, I can live on a recipe. This will reduce my grocery bill to about 20 Canadian Dollars a month. I usually use this as a standard for my purchases.

Live on a recipe? Isn't eating only paper bad for your health?

Good one. :)

However, this is a virtual recipe. Don't have it in print.

Actually I admire her purchase, it will serve her for a long time and can be used again and again.

My splurges are bad in comparison. Food once eaten is gone. Moreover, junk food can be eaten so fast. It is a consumable.

A "Girl With A Pearl Earring" print from the "Antique" store. It was sixteen bucks. I only ever allow myself to spend 5 dollars in there, so...But it's a gorgeous print! Hanging over the couch now.

I spent a buttload on weighlifting equipment.... while it could be viewed as a good thing (for obvious reasons) i also bought a gym membership w/ my buddie so we could play racquetball... So "frugally" speaking, I should just always work out at the gym.... :)

(I also want a new coffee maker, but i'm being good :))

Hehehehe....drinking is my biggest splurge as well. When my bf and I go out for "martini night...whoa momma...it can be about $60-$100
But we both work hard and make decent money. No children, school loans paid off (finally) so it's one treat I prefer not to do without.

On the other hand, I bought a new car in August and was able to put $6000 down :)

Every now and then I'll drive to Whole Foods for my weekly grocery shopping. I'll splurge on some of the fun extras like Soy Delicious (which costs a buttload more at Whole Foods than at Trader Joe's...but at WF you can get all kinds of exciting flavors!!) and GimmeLean sausage, Cheeseless veggie frozen pizzas, and all kinds of other little treats.

I'll also buy tons and tons of organic produce, which really racks up the bill but it's way too healthy to be considered a splurge. :D Still, my grocery bill at Whole Foods is almost twice what it is at my other grocery stores!

My biggest unfrugal splurge?

Disposable diapers. SO expensive when cloth ones would be so cheap. And so environmentally-UNfriendly. But SOOOO easy just to toss in the diaper bin, never to be dealt with again!

 I'm so jealous, I have children and a giant student loan that I married into!

My husband and I keep ourselves stocked in wine, however I don't consider it a splurge because we buy Charles Shaw from Trader Joe's at $2.99 a bottle.
