Well, the first one is similar to one that is used on I another board I frequent. It means, "don't beat a dead horse" when people keep arguing something that is pointless. But even the one we use is much less violent than the one you posted. It is just a smilie with a stick and a clearly dead horse. No biting or whipping.

The other one? Hmm. See no point in it at all.

I can't believe that someone spent time actually creating these.

Lighten up, yo! They are just smilies. I find them somewhat amusing...

I guess if someone has a lot of time on their hands, they can make whatever smilies they want. No REAL animals were harmed in the making of those, as far as I can tell.

They sure can. I can think of more useful things they could be doing, though, like watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, cleaning the litterboxes in my apartment or making me some lentil chili. :)

It is a smiley but it really disgusts me. I am against anything depicting violence to animals.

Birdlady,
Are you against educational depictions of animal abuse so that people know and can do something about it?

I am not against the literature that shows people proof of how the animals are suffering and asking for help. I saw it and it made me realize a lot more than I knew so I am not against it for helping the animals in an educational way.

Birdlady,
Just making sure. I wasn't sure how rigorous you were about your earlier statement. ;)

I don't really care if people want to make images of animals being killed, so long as they're sparing the animals themselves. I hate hunting and would never kill an animal, but I love hunting computer games. It's a way for me to hunt without actually hurting anything, and very stress relieving. In my opinion, things like violent games for most people are an outlet for their aggressive feelings, rather than making them violent. If a person wants to show an animal being killed, that's fine, so long as they don't really hurt anyone.
