Sometimes when i sit a long time the backs of my theighs go slightly numb (but not tingly, just kinda sore). It happens to 3 other people at work who say it is their sciatic nerve (in the back). We are thinking it is from the chairs...this is sad since I am between 15 and 25 years younger than them.

Does anyone else get this? Is there some sort of yoga or excercise I can do to help? Situps maybe?

According to the work people it can be stress related as well as posture from a bad chair, etc and unless it is really bad and caused by some sort of other problem like a slipped disc, they don't do anything for it.

I know this sounds kinda dumb, but how about getting up and moving around every so often. Nothing much - a trip to the potty, etc.

LOL - Yeah, I know this sounds dumb, but I am teathered to my phone in meetings all day and barely get away to go potty! I try to get up, sometimes I walk downstairs to the potty there, or just roam around the building, but to be honest I don't always have time. I guess I should stand up and stuff.

My other coworkers have these cordless headset things so they can stay on the phone and walk around. you can't get as far as the bathroom, but they can get pretty far. I don't like stuff on my head, but maybe i should ge that....
