6 mile run today... 2 X 1 mile interval (7 minutes) w/in the 1st 3 miles, 1/2 mile jog, 2 miles in 16 min then a 1/2 mile cool down

slynny- Great run! I think that I am going to wait until this summer to do the marathon. There is one in Cleveland at the end of May that I am looking at. It's a little frustrating because I will be ready to run one around Christmas, but there are none close to me then. I will just have to keep running the shorter races to keep myself motivated.

12 mile run. Next weekend it is 18.

NDvegan, is that one you are talking about the Flying Pig marathon? I soooooooooo want to do that one. I lurve pigs!!!!!! I have heard people over and over again say it is an awesome marathon to do. I have heard that a lot of people set PR's there too.

Slynny, you should come and do one in warmer weather! Come to CA! If I'm not running it, I'll come out with a sign that says, "Go Slynny!" and I'll wait with advil and food. :) The girls at runners world all do that for each other all the time. It is fun meeting people like that at races.

Ah well. :)

Rest day for me today.

Basic training for me today! It's tough doing all those lunges and squats the day after a long run...ouch. But on the other hand the classes are making my legs stronger and I can feel it when I run.

ND, I'm kind of in the same boat, my next marathon is in May, but I think I could be ready for one by Jan. The weather is just to crappy here for marathons from Nov. thru April. There is an off chance that I may be able to do one in Cali...we'll see.

Captain, I will be in San Diego in Jan. The San Diego marathon is the 16th right? I haven't really looked into it to much yet as the idea just occured to me, but I might be able to go early for the race...I think I could be ready by then. I'll look into it a bit more and let you know.

catswym, nice job!

Formerbaboon, Nice to see you! Great workout!

Go Hamsters!!! :vebo: :vebo: :vebo:

I think they have the Carlsbad marathon in Jan. It is right outside of SD. They also have a half if you aren't ready for the full.

Ooooh. I lived 5 minutes from Newport beach last year. :) Very pretty but too high maitence for me there. I think you'll defintly like the weather.
SD is about an hour and 15 minutes away from there and Carlsbad is slightly closer than that.

I think you could do either....it just depends on how you're feeling. If I can't run on a day I usually run I'll often do the run I was supposed to do on an off day to make it up. It usually depends on if I'm training or not, if I'm training I need to get the miles in more so than if I'm not. :D

Go Hamsters!!! :hamster: :hamster:

4 mile run today.

It's weird. I'm feeling sick (my students like to share everything with me including their germs) but I think this is my fastest time on a 4 miler since my last marathon in June.

Fat burning breakthrough tape Christy? Sounds deadly. :D

roqeja, sometimes it doesn't hurt skipping a run or taking a day off. Depending on how many other workouts you've missed lately I would just skip it. It also depends like Slynny said of course whether you are training for anything specific.

Nice 10 NDvegan! You sure are putting in a lot of miles.

Not deadly, but difficult. Granted, I've slacked for a couple weeks, and only worked out once last week. Luckily she usually has people with her doing various levels of difficulty so you can adjust based on your energy or fitness level. I'm not too jazzed on using a step, though, especially since she goes all around it and I don't have that much room. I thought I was going to kick my treadmill at one point.

treadmill - 2 miles, 3.5/4 mph, intervals - 32:22 min

Eh, at least I did something.

Yesterday: 5 mile run
Today: 6 mile run- warm up, (8 min fast, 2 min easy) X 2, (4 min fast 1 min easy) X 2, cool down

Thanks captain! I'm getting really into thie running thing... more so than when I ran cross country in high school! The hard part is taking my easy days and avoiding overuse injuries now.

ick. Haven't run at all this week. Hoping to bicycle today. maybe 30 or 40 minutes. Classwork has taken its toll on running so far. Feeling slightly under the weather but probably from stress.
