Has anyone been on the medication Geodon? It was made for schizophreni, but is also used to treat anxiety or depression. It is a mood stabilizer. Today my new doctor/nurse pracitioner put me on it, and I am starting a 40 mg and moving to 60 mg after three days. I am supposed to take it twice a day.

Well, I took my first dose when I got home from my appt, and about an hour later I started feeling woozy and dizzy. It is getting worse to where I feel, honestly, like I am scattered everywhere. I don't want to take the second dose and continue to feel this way.

Has anyone experienced this? (btw I am taking it for depression. And my bf talked to a nurse earlier today about the dizziness, but she said to call again if it doesn't go away by Friday.) I know sometimes you have to put up with sucky side effects to get results, and they go away, but I don't think I can handle this feeling. I can barely type this thread right now the way I feel.)

I haven't been on Geodon so I'm not sure how helpful I am, but I did want to check in and see how you were doing now azul_sky. Feeling better when you take the med or did you get pulled off of it?

Hi I've been on Geodon for 3 years now, & I only had the feeling you describe in the beginning. I don't find it does much as a mood stabilizer because I still get very depressed & it doesn't help anxiety like many other antipsychotics do (eg Zyprexa, Seroquel, Risperdal).
I mostly take it because it improves my clarity of thought & energy levels.
I still have a lot of problems w/ depression & anxiety unfortunately.
