This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian/vegan diet.


Ingredients:

1/4 cup of vegetable oil
1/4 cup of soy milk
1/3 cup of maple syrup
1/3 cup of sugar
3 Tbsp. dark jamaican rum
2 oz. unsweetend chocolate melted.
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup chopped pecans


Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine oil, soy milk, sugar, and syrup and whip until blended. Add rum and melted chocolate and mix well in a separate bowl. Sift together flour and baking soda, then add to the chocolate mixture and mix well. Fold in pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for about 8 minutes. Do not allow the edges to darken or burn. Makes 40 cookies.

will recipes turn out the same if i use brown cane sugar? do you use the same amount that the recipe calls for?

Wow, these sound really good. I'm definately going to make a variation on these.
If you use brown cane sugar then the recipe should turn out more or less the same. I use demerara sugar in cookies alot and they turn out good. Just substitute the same quantity.
