Restaurant!

I've finally visited a vegan restaurant! :up:

Dad and I were driving around Hollywood looking for something to eat and VOILA! In big neon letters, "CALIFORNIA VEGAN"

The place was very small, tables on one side, bar-sized kitchen on the other (with a bar), but it was all bright and had good atmosphere.
I ordered the glass-noodle soup (angel hair-style bean noodles and veggies, tofu), and dad the "cowboy platter" (marinated seitan strips and veggies [the seitan was apparently quite marinated, dad said it was too salty.... sigh]).
Felt kinda bad for making him go to an esp. vegan place, though.....(well, I didn't MAKE him, but ya know....)
(does this not sound so mature?)

That was the most divine thing I've ever eaten outside home!!!! :nana: (the menu was huge, I could just barely choose!!) And they give you brown rice instead of white!
I have a new respect for Thai food. :smoke:

i've only eaten there once, when i think they'd been open only a month or two, and it was pretty good. not great, and the pricing seemed inconsistent and excessive in some cases.

i really like that place! and it is pretty new, but longer than one or two months.. the last time i was there was in.. april or may! :) I hope they make it.. i wish there was a place like it in santa monica..

i said i went there when they had only been open one or two months, not that they'd only been open that long by this point in time.
