I'm guessing he left out a "turn fries" or something in there.

60 minutes seems like an awfully long time. I bake whole potatoes for 60 minutes. I think if you did oven fries for that long they'd turn into little hunks of charcoal. I usually bake mine for 20-30 minutes, depending on how thick they are.

I just baked them for 40 minutes. They seemed fine. They were sweet potatoes instead of regular, though. I don't know if that makes a difference.

mmmmm oven baked fries.

I get the longest potatoes I can find. Cut them , put in oven pan .... smear with olive oil , slt , pepper , maybe other seasoning. Bake at 400 or so for a while

Man i was going to have corn on the cob but oven fries sounds good too

I bake mine at 400 degrees for 60 minutes, also. I turn them several times while baking. However, I put the cut potatoes in a zip-lock baggie with some veggie oil, lite salt and some plain bread crumbs. Then I shake the bag just like shake-n-bake and place them on a cookie sheet lined with foil and sprayed with non-stick spray. I call them "fresh fries". I will never again buy frozen french fries at the store.

I copied the recipe right from the PETA site, if someone knows for sure that the directions should say to flip the fries let me know and I'll fix it. I'm assuming that's right but would like to hear from someone that's actually made them.
