I don't know. It just looked intersting to me. I plan to get one as soon as possible, probably in a couple of weeks.

I am about halfway through reading this now. I like it. I like his writing style. Very straightforward and simple, yet he provides an extensive list of resources of one is interested in more detail. This is different from his "Vegan: ..." book in that he gets more into advocacy. He broaches each current advocacy category (vegetarianism, animal rights, and animal welfare) and respectfully lists his ideas of what is right and wrong with each category. Then he presents ideas for a 4th category - dismantlement - which would focus more strongly on weakening and "overthrowing" agriculture.

By the way, Erik Marcus has now started an online radio program that can be accessed from www.vegan.com. I believe he'll be "broadcasting" five days a week. I plan to make listening to his show part of my morning routine :)

I ordered mine yesterday. I am going to see Erik Marcus talk in my town on the 25th. And maybe in Boston on the 23rd at the Veg. Food Fest.

Oh cool. I would love to see him talk in person, but it didn't look like his book tour was going to make it to my area.
