So can we get a small list of laundry detergents and maybe dawn/palmolive type dish soaps posted? Thanks, also anyone know of any high efficiency laundry detergents that are not animal tested? thanks

I use 7th Generation's dish soap and it works well. I also tried some non-tested stuff I found at Meijer, but I can't remember the name. :(

What is "high efficiency" laundry detergent?

I've had good experiences with Trader Joe's brand.

Method Brand at Target is a new on that is available that is cruelty free. I have not tried any of their products but if you do a search on here, you'll find quite a few others have.
I use Mrs. Myers for dishwashing by hand, Ecover Tablets for dishwasher, Restore laundry detergent, and Ecover for delicates. All excellent products.

I generally use planet or 7th generation for dishes and laundry because they're available at the grocery. They seem to work pretty well to me, but my husband complains that our clothes don't get very clean-smelling. I think it's because they're not all full of fragrance; they work fine as far as I'm concerned.

i use seventh generation citrus scent for laundry and my husband and i love it. i am a big fan of method products (i think i have tried most of them) so i use method cucumber dish soap for washing dishes by hand. it works very well and smells really nice.

but i still haven't found a cruelty-free dishwasher detergent that works well. if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. i have tried seventh generation and ecover powders (tablets are not available around here) and both of them leave my dishes nasty. i haven't been able to find huish products (such as vista) anywhere.

I think they work fine too. But if your husband really wants fragrence in his clothes, Mrs. Meyers has three different frangrences that are fairly strong, and the Mrs. Meyers laundry soap gets things clean too. Also, you only need 1/4 cup per extra large load, so it's less plastic too.

i just discovered that method has come out with detergent cubes for dishwashers. they are a little pricey (i think they were 3.99 for 18 loads at target) but i am willing to give them a go since i like the other method products so much and ecover and 7th generation have failed me. i'll post once i've used them a few times.
