angiokeratomas? I have one little one and I hate it. I developed it after having my son and my doctor says it's completely normal and he said "all women have them". Which is BS because I've never seen another one before in my life.

I googled it. I'm sorry.

I did Google it. Why be embarrassed, silly?! Anyway, you've probably never seen anyone else with them before because it doesn't sound like they happen in places appropriate for public viewing :)

Don't get me wrong, mine is just a teeny tiny little spot (compared to the pictures where there's ton - ick) but still...ugh. Seems like there's not that much known about them in the first place. I hope I don't end up with more.

i don't have these, but i have my share of sometimes embarrassing skin things, sally. i have a whole lot of moles! and skin tags, too. and other stuff. it sucks when you feel like you're the only one with some kind of "abnomality". but i try to either ignore that stuff or embrace it as a part of a 'whole me', which is unique and beautiful, including all my flaws. :)

I don't have that but I do have a "thing" where my skin healed after I tore in childbirth. The stitches didn't match up right and when it healed there was this "thing" there. I can't really describe it but it's like this little bit of extra skin that wasn't there before. It's weird.

Nope, I can't say as I have one of those, but I have moles and the like in odd places.

I'm not sure if this is what I have or not. My dermatologist told me once, but I forgot. I get single ones sometimes. I have a few that have been there a while - one on my forehead at the hairline, one on my upper arm, one on my calf, and I think one on my chest. They're not 'eruptive' as described on a few of the links. They're more like a tiny red mole barely the size of a pin head. I've had them for as long as I can remember.

Have you sought treatment for them? Are they painful? I saw something about liquid nitrogen as a treatment on one of the links.

(OK, maybe this (http://www.onyxmedical.com/html/images/vascutouch/cherry_angiomas_bf2.gif) is what I have.)

Bingo!

My partner has a dark mole on one of his testicles. I love it because it is something that is uniquely his. I'm sure your thingthatishardtospell is not nearly as horrid as you perceive it to be.

I have the same cherry angiomas that christy13 described. They sound a lot like SallyK's angiokeratomas, but I usually have them on my hands & arms. Sometimes they last for a couple of years & then go away, but some of them seem permanent.

I wouldn't worry about it, SallyK. To me, little moles, freckles, scars or imperfections are sexy and endearing.

I have some little speckles like that. I never gave them much thought.

Ditto.

<<<also very "moley".

It's only been in the past year or so, that I've kind of come to peace with them. A couple of experiences helped. One was when the ex first saw one that was in a "not visible to the public eye" place. I was not excited about sharing this "blemish", but he very gently touched the spot and made some kind (and sexy) comments. ;)

The other person who helped is one of my kiddos at work, who is just completed fascinated whenever he finds a spot anywhere on me. After a few seconds discussion ("what's that?" "a mole" "what happened?", etc.) he always has to check himself out to see if he has any. He thinks they're so cool that he wants to be moley too. :)

those, i have a lot of. mostly on my arms that i have noticed, but also legs and back, and not unlikely shoulders, neck, chest. they've increased in number over the past few years. my boyfriend has them, too.

i have a lot of skin tags, and a large-ish birthmark/mole/skin tag combination thing on my back.

I have all kinds of various skin thingies. Skin tags, moles, broken blood vessels, you name it. The older I get, the more things show up. I'm getting used to them now. I used to worry because my mother has seborrheic keratosis pretty much covering her entire body, which looks like this: http://www.shorelaser.com/ClinPix/MULTSKS1.JPG
and I didn't want to end up with that. But, in the end, as long as it's harmless, then I suppose it doesn't matter.

So the bitty ones are cherry angiomas... I never knew what those tiny red dots were called. I have two on my tummy and one on my wrist. It's good to know they are harmless.

Wow...your poor mother :( So lucky you didn't get that.

I have spider veins. Ick. They look like permanant bruises on my legs. Those also worsened due to pregnancy - I was beginning to get them before that.
I have a few of those red things too. I'll never forget, when I was 15, I had a boyfriend who had a few on his back and I was the first to tell him about them. He freaked out because apparently his dad was covered in them and he attributed them to being old and fat. So naturally, when I discovered my first one a few years later, I immediately hated it because I thought it meant I was old and fat. Silly me....
My husband has a million moles (yes, I've counted ), and many of them are in his groin region. He even has some on his penis and I do find those cute. :)
I wonder if fair skinned people have more things like this than darker colored people?

i've read this is true with the cherry angiomas (though would they really be noticeable with darker skin?).

I have a few moles, as well as a few spider veins on my legs. Eh, what can you do?

And yes, Sally is beautiful.

That's so cute!

I'm fair-skinned and covered in freckles and moles. I HATED having freckles and moles as a kid, but now I could care less. (Growing up has it's good points - like learning what things
really need to be worried over!)

My husband-elect is dark/olive complected, and he has lots of moles and freckles, too.
I like what Qetta said, "Growing up has it's good points- like learning what things really need to be worried over!"

Sorry....can't help but worry about a black dot on my labia!! The spider veins concern me too, since they sometimes become painful.

I was reading an old message board posting on another board (I don't recall which one - I found it when I googled angiokeratomas) and someone wrote that they asked their doctor about the black spot they found on their "private parts" and the doctor said "oh you probably got ink on yourself and that it should wash off with a good scrubbing." :wall: Duh...
